Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Her family should all be jailed
Revisado: 11-14-23
What her family has done to Brittany is truly criminal. They should all be put in jail for their lack of humanity and the years of treating her like a slave. It’s beyond tragic how little empathy any of them have and how tone deaf her mother is to continue to attempt to force her way back into Brittany’s life after standing idly by while her drunken father continued to abuse and use her. I feel so sad that Brittany and Sam didn’t work out. They seemed to truly be in love with each other. She deserves to be happy and to live life.

Historia
Reverend Willie Maxwell was a rural preacher accused of murdering five of his family members for insurance money in the 1970s. With the help of a savvy lawyer, he escaped justice for years until a relative shot him dead at the funeral of his last victim. Despite hundreds of witnesses, Maxwell's murderer was acquitted—thanks to the same attorney who had previously defended the reverend. Casey Cep brings this story to life, from the shocking murders to the courtroom drama to the racial politics of the Deep South.

Also, no one ever says the word around lake Martin nor would anyone go knocking on doors around lake Martin. The real community is in and around Alex City where you might go door to door, everything is too far apart to go door to door around the lake. Otherwise this was a great story and a pretty good read of it.

Historia
When Madlyn and Rollo are sent to stay at ancient Clawstone Castle, they soon fall in love with the house and its eccentric, penniless inhabitants. There's grumpy, limping Uncle George, mousey Miss Emily, and reclusive Cousin Howard who hardly ever leaves his library. But, the children are especially enchanted by the cattle of Clawstone Park - rare and beautiful beasts, as white as snow and as wild as wolves. No one knows where they came from.

I truly enjoyed reading this book to all of my children and now to my granddaughter. This seems like a long read for anyone under 8 but we breezed through this book and the kids were glued to every word of it.

Historia
This riveting narrative explores the lives of six remarkable female pharaohs, from Hatshepsut to Cleopatra - women who ruled with real power - and shines a piercing light on our own perceptions of women in power today. Female rulers are a rare phenomenon - but thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, women reigned supreme. But throughout human history, women in positions of power were more often used as political pawns in a male-dominated society. What was so special about ancient Egypt that provided women this kind of access to the highest political office?

This should be made into a history class
Revisado: 01-11-22
It would benefit everyone if they had a better grasp on the roles women played within ancient history. This is well written, well researched and the book is well read. It was the best book I read in 2021, I had to listen to the audio book as well because I enjoyed it so much.

The Perry family's new house is perfect - except for the weird behavior of the neighbors, and that odd smell coming from a dark corner in the basement. Pity no one warned the family about the house. Now it's too late. Because the darkness at the bottom of the basement stairs is rising.

Good Storyline Confusing Ending
Revisado: 09-08-20
The story was good, it had a lot of twists and turns that were unexpected. I liked the historical references and honestly the way the wife came across the history is believable. I won’t give it away, but I felt like the ending could have been better.

If you are here during the COVID19 pandemic seeking answers then you have come to the right place. No it doesn’t discuss the current pandemic but it does explain a lot of underlying issues and how these types of illnesses remain uncured and why they are so deadly.
