Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Everyone from Wakarusa, Indiana, remembers the infamous case of January Jacobs, who was discovered in a ditch hours after her family awoke to find her gone. Margot Davies was six at the time, the same age as January—and they were next-door neighbors. In the twenty years since, Margot has grown up, moved away, and become a big-city journalist. But she’s always been haunted by the feeling that it could’ve been her. And the worst part is, January’s killer has never been brought to justice.

An elderly couple have made a few well-meaning mistakes, and now they owe big money to some very bad people. One brazen move leads to another, and suddenly Reacher finds himself a wanted man in the middle of a brutal turf war between rival Ukrainian and Albanian gangs.

More than a thriller - an existential masterpiece.
Revisado: 10-17-19
“I would have appreciated the irony of the thing.”
Irony indeed. From one existential moment in 1942 to another in 1988.
Great writing and thoughtful meaning.
John can turn a phrase. “There sat the phone on the counter like a loaded gun.”
“I dreamed that night that I was flying; buffeted by the winds and my skin like riveted aluminum.”
That’s writing.

The reader continues to struggle with male voices
Revisado: 08-06-18
The reader continues to struggle with male voices. The males keep sounding dull or stupid. Captain Largo was not as wide or helpful as in the past too man ASAPs. Ann is doing better job on landscape. She still needs better grasp of spirituality of Navajos. The Hero Twins May be foreign concepts to new readers. The “twins” in the story could have been filled out more with regards to the Hero Twins.
