True to life story about the power of faith
Revisado: 04-21-24
I thoroughly enjoyed Andrew Roth's Texas Faith! It is an engrossing story about the difficulties and challenges of life in the post-Civil War south and the elusive reality, even for lifelong believers, that whether we are facing insurmountable odds or just everyday challenges, faith is the only truly rational response. Mr. Roth's prose is exceptional and engaging, leaving the listener hanging on every word and eager to hear what comes next. And Craig Abbott's performance is excellent, The characters are multidimensional and interesting and the story is rich and expansive. But the theme of faith is really what hits home. Whether you have been a Christian since childhood or you are simply curious about the things of God, this book will both challenge and encourage you. Highly recommend!!

Historia
America is in crisis, from the university to the workplace. Toxic ideas first spread by higher education have undermined humanistic values, fueled intolerance, and widened divisions in our larger culture. The Diversity Delusion argues that the root of this problem is the belief in America’s endemic racism and sexism, a belief that has engendered a metastasizing diversity bureaucracy in society and academia.

Eye opening look at the threat of PC
Revisado: 10-07-19
Except for a few sections where the narrative gets bogged down in statistics, this is a lively, engaging and very enlightening if not terrifying book that exposes the literal insanity of identity politics that threatens to destroy our culture.

Historia
Conrad Black, bestselling author of Franklin Delano Roosevelt: Champion of Freedom and Richard M. Nixon: A Life in Full, turns his attention to his "friend" President Donald J. Trump and provides the most intriguing and significant analysis yet of Trump's political rise. Ambitious in intellectual scope, contrarian in many of its opinions, and admirably concise, this is surely set to be one of the most provocative political books you are likely to listen to this year.

Clear eyed biography.
Revisado: 12-27-18
Although the author is a friend and (clearly) an admirer of Trump's, he relates a clear eyed vision of the man including his occasionally tenuous relationship with the absolute truth and his penchant for what Black calls "truthful hyperbole." Still, a great deal of what the general public "knows" about Trump is actually just the product of the media's unrelenting assault on his character and efforts to undermine his presidency at any cost. Trump is a true American icon and likely to go down in history as one of our boldest and most effective presidents.

Historia
Who is killing America? Is it really Donald Trump and a GOP filled with white supremacists? In this audiobook, Dinesh D’Souza makes the provocative case that Democrats are the ones killing America by turning it into a massive nanny state modeled on the Southern plantation system. Death of a Nation's bracing alternative vision of American history explains the Democratic Party's dark past, reinterprets the roles of figures like Van Buren, FDR, and LBJ, and exposes the hidden truth that racism comes not from Trump or the conservative right but rather from Democrats.

The truth will set us all free!
Revisado: 11-21-18
The history of racism and ethnic oppression in America runs parallel with that of the Democrat party starting in the antebellum South and continuing to current day Detroit and Baltimore. The cotton plantation has been replaced with an urban plantation but the effects on the inhabitants is the same: an overwhelming sense of helplessness, dependence and frustration. D'Souza reveals the Big Lie and offers hope and a strategy for overcoming it once and for all.

When I purchased this book I had no idea it was of the "fantasy" genre and would not have bought it if I knew. Generally not my cup of tea, but I enjoyed it thoroughly! Excellent writing, story and performance.

Americans didn’t just go to the polls in 2016. They joined a movement that swept the unlikeliest of candidates, Donald Trump, into the Oval Office. Can he complete his agenda?
