I have really grown to love this offer, this is the first book in a long time that I found myself struggling to turn off. I would look forward to going on drives in my car just so that I could listen to more of it, or I would find myself doing yardwork just to get in morelisting time. Excellent.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Great read, You don’t have to be an iCarly fan to enjoy this
Revisado: 10-04-22
The book had been on my radar for a while, the title sucked me in because I was able to relate to the subject matter. I was aware of Jennette McCurdy of course but I wasn’t a fan of those shows growing up or anything. My daughters watch it on repeat though so I’m certainly familiar.
I decided to read the book after seeing her interview with Drew Barrymore. Childhood trauma and the complicated nature of the family relationships that are involved is a messy topic, Jeannette navigates it flawlessly. The book was entertaining from start to finish, that’s not easy to pull off if the reader was not a fan of the author before hand. there were times where I took the long way home so that I could spend more time in my car listening to the book. At one point the book brought tears to my eyes.
I found the book to be empowering as well, being willing to air out your deepest darkest feelings in front of the entire world must have taken quite a bit of strength. Even if you can’t relate to the subject matter I think there’s a lesson to be learned for everybody in this one. Hopefully this isn’t the last piece of work we will see from Jeanette McCurdy.

Excellent book, excellent voice actor
Revisado: 04-05-22
The book was excellent, but anything with this amount of volume could be terrible with the wrong voice actor. She absolutely does the book justice and adds emotion in all the right ways.

Van Halen's rise in the 1980s was one of the most thrilling the music world had ever seen - their mythos an epic party, a sweaty, sexy, never-ending rock extravaganza. During this unparalleled run of success, debauchery, and drama, no one was closer to the band than Noel Monk. Throughout Van Halen's meteoric rise and abrupt halt, this confidant, fixer, friend, and promoter saw it all and lived to tell. Now, for the first time, he shares the most outrageous escapades.

Interesting for fans, but full of sour grapes
Revisado: 03-22-21
The book is definitely worth a listen, I found it interesting and at no point in the book was on board. The story is really interesting in the book was written well, it’s cool to hear some behind-the-scenes stuff from the heyday of the van.
The one thing I didn’t care much for was the lopsided representation of the bands behavior. The author had no problem pointing out any number of terrible things the members of the band had done but takes ownership forzero mistakes of his own. I have a hard time imagining that the band fired him and he had never done a single thing wrongcom human relationships rarely work that way. It’s a shame too because it could’ve been a home run book, but it’s certainly tainted by the Underlying tones of revenge throughout the book

A little bit artsy farty for my taste
Revisado: 03-14-21
I ended up turning this book off pretty early, this book isn’t really about Stevie or the band but rather this guys experience with them. He just uses flowery descriptions to describe what it’s like listening to the songs or watching the music videos, I’m sure many people will love it but if you were hoping for a narrative about Stevie Nicks or to learn some history about the band then you will be disappointed

In 1984, at the age of 20, Duff McKagan left his native Seattle - partly to pursue music, but mainly to get away from a host of heroin overdoses then-decimating his closest group of friends in the local punk scene. In LA only a few weeks and still living in his car, he answered a want ad for a bass player placed by someone who identified himself only as "Slash." Soon after, the most dangerous band in the world was born. Guns N' Roses went on to sell more than 100 million albums worldwide.

Incredible book
Revisado: 04-26-19
Guns and roses was my favorite band as a child. I had a boombox in my bunkbed and I would listen to the appetite for destruction cassette every night when I was going to sleep. Everybody knows slash and axl but after reading this book it really sinks in just how important every individual member of the band was. His story is an incredible tale of success and redemption. Written very well

What did I just listen to ?
Revisado: 01-07-19
I’ve just come to the end of this and I must say that I’m quite confused. I will start off by saying that the voice actor was good, but that’s about the only compliment I have. I feel like I just listened to the first chapter of a book that only has one chapter. I don’t feel like there was any message here so perhaps it was just some attempt at being artistic, But it was free so I guess I can’t complain

a redundant waste of time, a long sales pitch
Revisado: 01-02-18
Rich Dad Poor Dad was an excellent book, I really enjoyed it. But this book was extremely redundant, he just basically repeated the same principles over and over. there were a few worthwhile things mentioned before the most part I felt like he was basically trying to sell me on his program and his board games and his seminars. if you read Rich Dad Poor Dad then do not waste your time by reading this

the book was great and I found it very educational and motivational. However it is not what I would consider to be an entertaining read from start to finish although it does have its moments. I think this should be part of anyone's collection who wishes to educate themselves on having a strong financial mindset

so far this is the best financial book I have ever read. It's extremely short but to the point and it doesn't repeat itself often. It also doesn't jump all over the place from point-to-point which is something that drives me crazy about a lot of other Financial books I have read. This book is excellent
