Historia
A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C. S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old devil to his nephew Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging and humorous account of temptation - and triumph over it - ever written.

Chillingly powerful.
Revisado: 09-02-16
Lord have mercy on us. This allegorical story of a junior tempter being guided by his senior temper uncle through a series of letters, is sure to touch the heart. The gifted insight of Mr. Lewis transports the audience into the underworld to bring clarity to the workings of demons on their quest to devour souls for their own gluttonous hunger. Though he explicitly states that this is a work of fiction and should not be taken as gospel truth, there are, I believe, truths in his writing. I firmly believe that demons work in very similar was to the ones mentioned in this book, though most likely not entirely as written.
I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of the spiritual battles that rage among us unknowing mortals and who desire to live in the camp of the "enemy" (God as he is described in the book). This book, though chilling as I described, it written in such a light-hearted way as to not be frightening. Highly recommended.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Revisado: 08-04-16
Stephen King is truly a master storyteller. this unabridged version of the stand seems to be a bit overwhelming being 48 hours long but the authors writing and the narrator's story telling keep the book exciting and the listener at the edge of their seat!
A word of warning though, this book is very graphic in both sexuality and gore. Much of it can be disturbing.

And what achievements can they claim: laws passed, monuments built, lands and peoples conquered? Dive into these questions and more with this introduction to the complex personalities of emperors such as Augustus, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero.

A study in the ancient peraonality
Revisado: 07-01-16
If you sometimes miss going to college lectures and you have a desire to learn about the men who ruled over ancient Rome than this is a audio book you'll enjoy. The professor is clearly passionate about this study and just as clearly brilliant as it appears his mind sometimes works faster than his mouth and he has difficulty speaking what he's thinking. a great overview study of the Roman emperors.

Well done
Revisado: 06-28-16
The continuation of a captivating story about the human races resilience in the face of total annihilation, Independence Day Resurgence is truly an exciting story. It is not a perfect story by any means however, the characters can some times be dry and petty or cliché, but the story idea behind this story is fascinating and intriguing and able to keep the listener hooked.
I have yet to see this in movie form, though I do not understand why the movie has been getting poor reviews. If critics are going in expecting it to be exactly like the first they will be disappointed. It has its moments when it take from the first movie (almost word for word) but it is definitely reaching out to the next generation to continue on the story of earths survival and its ability to conquer.
This story is certainly a whirlwind of excitement and leaves the listener wishing for a sequel which it so easily sets up for preparing for a universal war. I highly recommend it be paired with Independence Day Resurgence: Crucible in which the listener will hear the back story and about the time between the first movie and second.

The prequel to the prequels. This book offers the reader a glance into the life of the most sinister vilians of the star wars galaxy. The author expertly ties in this story to the movies (all three of the prequels) in such a way that leaves the listener feeling satisfied as If he's now being told the answers to questions he wasn't aware he had! Mr. Davis's narration, dark and deep, adds to the overall feel of the book drawing the listener deeper into the story and the expanded universe. If there is one book I wish was still considered Canon, it's this one. A must read.

The Return of the King is the towering climax to J. R. R. Tolkien’s trilogy that tells the saga of the hobbits of Middle-earth and the great War of the Rings. In this concluding volume, Frodo and Sam make a terrible journey to the heart of the Land of the Shadow in a final reckoning with the power of Sauron. In addition to narrating the prose passages, Rob Inglis sings the trilogy’s songs and poems a capella, using melodies composed by Inglis and Claudia Howard, the Recorded Books studio director.

The tale of the ring comes to an epic conclusion and solidifies the loyalty of its listeners. In this final installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Tolkien wonderfully ties up all the lose ends in a satisfying and rewarding way, making the listener, or reader, want to go back to fellowship and start all over again. The narration is wonderful and captivating as to be expected in a Lord of the Rings book.

Historia
Caesar Augustus has been called history's greatest emperor. It was said he found Rome made of clay and left it made of marble. With a senator for a father and Julius Caesar for a great-uncle, he ascended the ranks of Roman society with breathtaking speed. His courage in battle is still questioned yet his political savvy was second to none. He had a lifelong rival in Mark Antony and a 51-year companion in his wife, Livia. And his influence extended perhaps further than that of any ruler who has ever lived.
