Historia
In The Anxious Generation, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt lays out the facts about the epidemic of teen mental illness that hit many countries at the same time. He then investigates the nature of childhood, including why children need play and independent exploration to mature into competent, thriving adults. Haidt shows how the “play-based childhood” began to decline in the 1980s, and how it was finally wiped out by the arrival of the “phone-based childhood” in the early 2010s.

Made a persuasive case that social media and the decline of the play-based childhood is leading to depression, anxiety and a failure of social skills and ability to engage with the world.

This clear, accessible, and even humorous book is ideal for young listeners new to economics and to all listeners who seek a better understanding of the full sweep of economic history and ideas.

Shallow treatment of inequality, misses replication crisis. In regard to the Great Financial Crisis, overstates the role of private actors and mortgage backed securities and misses the self-inflicted wound of policy makers: tightening money supply and raising lending standards. On other topics, should have addressed housing supply and immigration restrictions.

Historia
You would think that when the United States of America was formed, our citizenry could finally enjoy a plethora of hard-won liberties. But that was not the case. While the new Americans no longer suffered from taxation without representation, many of the liberties we enjoy today were not part of their lives. In Liberty on Trial in America: Cases that Defined Freedom, you will learn how liberty increased in our country when individuals sued for those freedoms, when cases were brought specifically to test the limits of the Constitution with its Amendments....

I knew nothing about law coming in so I learned a bunch. I am a big nerd though so I wish it had more emphasis on legal theory.

Historia
First published in 1983, High Output Management by Andrew Grove is a management guide based on Grove's 15 years of managerial experience and knowledge as a cofounder, president, and chief executive of Intel. As Grove emphasizes in a new introduction to the book, globalization and the information revolution have dramatically changed the workforce, making people ever more replaceable and the market ever more competitive. Companies must adapt to these changes or face their own irrelevance and extinction.

You'd think that a 20 min summary of a book wouldn't repeat itself, but then you'd be wrong. Did you know that managers should have goals? Did you also know they need to adapt to changing circumstances? Then you don't need to listen to this summary.
The actual book might have value...

Historia
A series of closely interrelated essays on game theory, this book deals with an area in which progress has been least satisfactory - the situations where there is a common interest as well as conflict between adversaries: negotiations, war and threats of war, criminal deterrence, extortion, tacit bargaining. It proposes enlightening similarities between, for instance, maneuvering in limited war and in a traffic jam; deterring the Russians and one's own children; the modern strategy of terror and the ancient institution of hostages.
