Holy COW!!

I knew when I found out there was a new series in the works, it would be a good one... and the fact it brought back the most beloved Weston Pack, made it even more exciting. I didn't want it to end..... it was THAT good. I am anxiously awaiting for the next in this series. Not to mention any other book that Ms Dark writes. Thank you for your time and dedication to your craft... I thoroughly enjoy each and every one.

Narrator needs to read a Alex Cross book!

From the first sentence I just knew this would be horrible.. The narrator never listened to a Alex Cross book and that was evident in the mispronouncing of "Jannie's" name .. It might be written as Janie but any narrator worth his salt would have known the pronunciation was incorrect.... that was just the start of the worst, choppy, monotone, boring read ever...I think a frog could have sounded better.
After all these years and 28 books this was the worst.
I want to get a refund but I have the complete collection... what to do.

Narration HORRIBLE!

I LOVED the series .. UNTIL... I wish I would have read the reviews before getting invested into this series... Xe Sands is by far the superior narrator. She added character to the residents in this series.. then to find out the last 2 books have someone that has NO clue as to how to tell a compelling story is thoroughly disappointing. I could NOT continue listening. So sad.

I love the Mystic Bayou Series.. but I have one regret... it's over too fast... I get so wrapped up in the story line, and 7 hours is gone by too quickly... I love the narrators, they add such a interesting element to the story. I can't wait until the next installment.

Such a wonderful story ruined by a mediocre narrator... Her monotone droning, sleep inducing voice that stumbled across her words were irritating.

Holy Overacting Mr Cross

I have heard some bad narration but this takes the case. Very choppy and fake. Love the Cross series but I am greatly disappointed in the acting. Thank god the actors get better in later series.. I don't think I could stand this again.

Love it BUT....

Love this series however Cassandra Campbell is no Adriana Trigani when it comes to narration. She does the "country" accent too hard. It came off as a southern accent and not Appalachian accent. It goes to show .. if you are not from this area then you have no idea how the dialect sounds. Adriana has Fleeta down perfect. I would have rather listened to the narrator talking in her normal speaking voice then listening to this southern "put on". Other than that she does have a "easy to listen to" voice. Just the dialect makes me cringe like nails on a blackboard.

I have read the reviews but still I was curious..so I downloaded it and WWB. Personally I don't see what the big hoopla is. It's like comparing apples to oranges, Patterson has taken his readers on a different tangent which I find refreshing.. even though it may be far fetched.. it is still entertaining. Do you not go to a sci-fi movie thinking it is reality?
When one goes in with a negative attitude, one is unable to enjoy the story, and the ride it takes one on.

Adriana Trigiani has Southwest Va down to a art.. I live near Big Stone Gap and know this area really well... I can envision the areas she is depicting with such clarity.
Even when she talks about Europe it all becomes clear in my mind... like you are actually there.

This is a Must read... I loved it
