Historia
On a secluded bluff overlooking the ocean sits a Victorian house, lavender with gingerbread trim, a home that contains a century’s worth of secrets. By the time Jane Flanagan discovers the house as a teenager, it has long been abandoned. The place is an irresistible mystery to Jane. There are still clothes in the closets, marbles rolling across the floors, and dishes in the cupboards, even though no one has set foot there in decades. The house becomes a hideaway for Jane, a place to escape her volatile mother.

Interesting story, too heavy on alcoholism and preachy/left politics
Revisado: 07-10-24
Liked setting and story. Disliked so much exhausting and depressing alcoholism content as well as the heavy / preachy left leaning descriptions of women and indigenous people. Less on both of these would have increased focus on the story.

Historia
The Great Recession has shuffled Clay Jannon out of his life as a San Francisco Web-design drone - and serendipity, sheer curiosity, and the ability to climb a ladder like a monkey has landed him a new gig working the night shift at Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore. But after just a few days on the job, Clay begins to realize that this store is even more curious than the name suggests. There are only a few customers, but they come in repeatedly and never seem to actually buy anything....

High potential, bogged down in love for Silicon Valley tech
Revisado: 06-24-23
Super high potential story, cool bookstore and history tie ins, but I found the repeated references to Google and tech and tech being a savior to be hard to take…

Historia
The first time Sana Khan asked out a girl—Rachel Recht—it went so badly that she never did it again. Rachel is a film buff and aspiring director, and she’s seen Carrie enough times to learn you can never trust cheerleaders (and beautiful people). Rachel was furious that Sana tried to prank her by asking her on a date. But when it comes time for Rachel to cast her senior project, she realizes that there’s no more perfect lead than Sana—the girl she's sneered at in the halls for the past three years. And poor Sana—she says yes.

Heartwarming story, adorable 80s teen rom com vibes
Revisado: 05-18-22
The author really made two wonderful characters come to life through this book. It happens to be a queer couple, but it really resonated for me as a timeless teen love story that anyone would enjoy, queer or not. I’d love to see this book on screen! Author did a spectacular job reading. Looking forward to her next audio book!

Amazing story about an incredible woman!!!
Revisado: 06-01-18
High quality, balanced and comprehensive biography of Francis Perkins - someone who deserves to be much more well known than she is. Am so happy that i read this book! Learned a ton, even about a period of history that I’ve studied extensively. Strongly recommend!!
