Reoccurring Questions as to Who? What? Need to Learn Morr

The complexity and number of characters was at times confusing. If I had a day or two off from listening I began to wish I had written down character names & sometimes their profiles. Not necessarily a bad thing. There were several times that I needed to go back a couple of chapters to clarify a couple of things I generally listen while driving or doing every day task so I don’t always give a book 100% concentration. Therefore, the complexity was partially on my listening behavior.

Four stars due to the long list of characters

Some interesting details about traveling to Africa but it took a long time to get involved in the characters because there were so many of them. Not my favorite in the series

Good Character Development adding depth to the complexity of the actual Story

Easy to visualize the individual characters due to the development of individuals from chapter to chapter. Motivations well explained in chapter by chapter by individual’s life experiences.

3 Provocative Storylines. Simply: Right vs Wrong

Long, not a page turner

This book was recommended on a morning talk show, and I was quite interested in listening. I have always been fascinated by Chinese history and culture. The narrative was monotone, and it was difficult to keep all the characters straight due to unfamiliar names. Not sad. I finish the book, but I would not recommend it to anyone.

Slow quirky start and then WOW!

As a high school student in the 60s, I had two choices if I wanted to go to college: be a nurse, or be a teacher. Secondary education was my choice. And after World War II, there was a baby boom and I was part of it. Three high schools closed while I was still enrolled in college. No jobs. I ended up working part time at a major retail company. Happily married. And just five months pregnant. I suddenly was no longer scheduled to work. An office administrator told the store manager that she thought I was pregnant. It was a union store and I was supposed to be given a two week notice. So I asked for it. The store manager behind his desk told me that it would be obscene for me to be seen in public. True story. That is only one topic addressed in this incredible book. The characters are amazing, particularly a dog.

Series Characters are the Victims

Not too many books or authors cause me to sit in my car after arriving at desired location to sit in the car to finish a chapter or even continuing. Fallen gripped me immediately and I struggled balancing my responsibilities with the anxiety I felt for what is NEXT! Throw in the further development in the series' characters' relationships the "glue: is even stronger.

If you're intrigued by the Will Trent series, this is an A+.

Easy to Recommend to Friends

Reflective in a way that is both entertaining and mindful that perspectives are personal. This is multi layered, and there is an expectation that as you listen that your may begin to see things in a different light. Well, worth keeping in my audio library to revisit from time to time. Lots of laughs, and some interesting stories to say the least.

Didn’t want to Turn It off when life demanded I do so

Opening pages grabbed my attention. Looking forward to learning a little bit more about WillTrent, since I knew he was the main character. Complex storyline, and characters. I did go back and listen to passages from time to time when I was distracted while listening I did not find that to be a problem, and that it helped enlighten me, especially in character development. And another thing that I appreciate is that I develop empathy for almost every character. Looking forward to listening to more books in the series.
