Excellent job on the breakdown of a classic. Easy to understand and captivating enough to have the listener get the complete book. I hope all people get this.

Historia
In The Second, historian and award-winning author Carol Anderson powerfully illuminates the history and impact of the Second Amendment, how it was designed and how it has consistently been constructed to keep African Americans powerless and vulnerable. The Second is neither a 'pro-gun' nor an 'anti-gun' book; the lens is the citizenship rights and human rights of African Americans.

Historia
As Ferguson, Missouri, erupted in August 2014 and media commentators across the ideological spectrum referred to the angry response of African Americans as 'Black rage', historian Carol Anderson wrote a remarkable op-ed in the Washington Post showing that this was, instead, 'white rage at work. With so much attention on the flames,' she wrote, 'everyone had ignored the kindling.'

Eye Opening Artistry
Revisado: 12-17-24
This book is a excellent!! An eye opening expose' on what this country has, and is historically doing to undermine the self determination of a people who just wanted to be treated like God intended them to. Her attention to detail, and historical accuracy in putting the events in order and together, along with a different perspective was absolutely fantastic and fascinating. Great read for those who need to learn about where a lot of our problems and issues began. Than you Dr. Carol Anderson.

Historia
Americans have built an empire on the idea of “race”, a falsehood that damages us all but falls most heavily on the bodies of Black women and men - bodies exploited through slavery and segregation and, today, threatened, locked up, and murdered out of all proportion. What is it like to inhabit a Black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden? Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’ attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son.

A Very Real Perspective of a Father
Revisado: 11-08-23
The way Mr Coates wrote his thoughts and emotions as a conversation with, and story to his son was absolutely beautiful and brilliant. To express and share his childhood, his thought process, and his feelings with him came across so genuine, I felt every word.
A time capsule of growing up and his writing ability had me able to picture this book with ease. It took me back to that time and helped me view my childhood in a different light and perspective as well. Superbly written and read. I could feel the emotion as well. Great Job my brother. Great job.
