Interesting story, culture, characters.
Revisado: 04-18-25
Sometimes overstated, heavy worded. Perhaps wouldn’t have been so noticeable if not listened to .. so could skim some parts.
But will look for more from the author.

Meandering crime story
Revisado: 08-03-24
Loved that it happened in Paris.. and loved the friendship between Hugo and Tom.
Also liked that Claudia turned out to be a ‘good guy’ .. hope we see more of her. I loved that it centered on the book sellers along the Seine.

Historia
Revelation was written because God wants us to know what the future holds. For Christians, the prophetic truths within provide wisdom, reassurance, and discernment - while for unbelievers, Revelation is a plea to receive God’s grace while there is still time. Best-selling author Amir Tsarfati examines what Revelation makes known about the end times and beyond.

Historia
For single mother Kate O'Hara, there was no decision to make. Her daughter, Rosie, is one of a small percentage of children with a disorder that prevents them from being immunized. All Kate can do is hope that herd immunity keeps the disease at bay and her little girl safe. For Madeleine Cooper, vaccinations were a leap of faith she wasn't prepared to take. Which was why, following much soul searching, she and her husband declined controversial measles shots for their daughter, Clara.

Lost speed towards the end...
Revisado: 01-22-18
Actually, even with slow places & being somewhat repetitious.. This book was still keeping my attention as I both read & listened to it. The ending though was less than satisfying, seeming to fizzle rather than spark. Perhaps that was the intention, to show that the author thinks there are no winners in this debate. Would only recommend to someone really interested in the subject.

Let me down just a little at the end..
Revisado: 07-14-17
Loved the whole story.. engaging, interesting, so well read... & liked the twists and turns near the end, but was very disappointed (&angry) with suicide of a character who could have helped & end up well herself, if she'd not been so daft. Also disappointed & saddened with suicide of her endearing cousin. Also. Wanted $$ provided for full & complete education of Anna & any other future children..
Can I rewrite the last part?? Instead of fizzling, it could have crackled!

I didn't know...
Revisado: 02-27-17
To say this recounting was Informative is a huge understatement! I've lived in Dallas, Texas for the past 35 years, raised my family here... my 2 daughters have lived in San Antonio, my 2 sons went to U of TX in Austin. None of us ever heard of Crystal City or its history. I do think this story should be put into the history curriculum of not only all schools in Texas, but indeed the whole country. The fact that it happened is bad enough.. To Not Know is a travesty. Thank you, Ms. Russell for researching this piece of American history so well and putting it down on paper. Now, I know.
(Although the reader was clear & unhurried, I would have preferred a reading with more inflection/emotion..)
