Historia
David Glover unpacks his life’s path in his memoir Born Out of Pain. To understand how he arrived at his current place in his life, he had to go to the beginning. His only escape was a dysfunctional church and his rocky relationship with God. After he left his hometown, David was constantly plagued by his dreams about traumatic occurrences in his childhood and memories from his past that he suppressed. The memories he couldn’t deal with began to seep from the dark hidden places into the light of his consciousness, and his tormenting thoughts moved into his dreams.

Historia
Mary B. Addison killed a baby. Allegedly. She didn't say much in that first interview with detectives, and the media filled in the only blanks that mattered: a white baby had died while under the care of a churchgoing black woman and her nine-year-old daughter. The public convicted Mary, and the jury made it official. But did she do it?

Bahni Turpin IS THE STAR
Revisado: 11-16-24
I literally look for books that are narrated by Bahni. They typically are GREAT AA reads. This one was a great read until we got to the end that went for this (READ ANOTHER BOOK WITH THIS CHARACTER CONTINUATION) end. I didn't get what personality or psychotic role that Mary was playing. Everything was FINE until the ending left me questioning her innocence. I just didn't like it. The mother's psychosis and bad parenting was great....but the ending leaves mom looking ....innocent..??? I would have read another Tiffany Jackson book without this Psuedo-psychotic characterization of poor Mary. I honestly don't want to read anything else about Mary if she's really really cray-cray. I would have rather just read another Tiffany Jackson book. Bahni's performance reminded me of her work in Delores Phillip's, "The Darkest Child'. I absolutely loved what Bahni did with the villanous mother's voice in that audio book and when she did Mary's idiotic self-righteous mom with that accent, I was moved yet again, The book was great...I just HATED the ending so much until it made me regret reading it. My heart was bleeding for Mary until the end....hmph!! Overall...TIFFANY Jackson is an AWESOME and talented writer. I love the way she describes this bad and negligent mother through her daughter's innocent eyes. Allegedly is a JOURNEY....

Join actress and activist Erika Alexander in a neo-noir, true crime drama as she searches for Tamika Huston, a 24-year-old Black woman from Spartanburg, SC who went missing in 2004. Her case became a rallying cry for other missing Black women in America and led to a growing demand to expose a system that ignores missing girls and women of color.

I love true crime, but Erika's commentary is what spoke to me. The musical interlude at the end actually forces you to stop and honor Tamika's story. A beautiful family chosen to bear very heavy burdens. Tamika, we speak your name.

John gives great stories from his work as a psychic medium. Cummings story telling and voice acting is superb. This book is ideal for other gifted or spiritually inclined individuals, as it operates on a mentoring level. John tells of his encounters while explaining the intricacies of his role as the practitioner. I learned a lot and I want to hear more

Historia
Since the dawn of time, people have been fascinated by those who claim to have extraordinary psychic abilities. The fascination has reached a fever pitch with the rise of modern media. It is safe to say that many of these folks are either extraordinary frauds or extraordinarily deluded. But could some of them be legitimate? Do some people actually possess psychic gifts that can be used to help and heal?

Where does Psychics, Healers, and Mediums rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The top
Who was your favorite character and why?
The author...she wrote it and she read it just like she wrote it. Quite entertaining.
Which scene was your favorite?
I love the way she chose to write about the mediums and their take on "religion" or explanation about spiritual new thought. Great study on the subject matter for those of us who know there's another explanation outside of what we have been fed from childhood through church teachings. There's MORE out there
