Historia
Twenty-one years have passed since the end of the wars against the Insectoids and the rogue AI Machineships. A new generation of Shilohs has joined the Space Force, much to the joy of the AIs that still revere the memory of The Cag, Victor Shiloh. And, once again, humanity is in mortal danger. The temporal backlash from multiple time jumps that the Friendlies had warned against is making itself felt with a vengeance. Can humans and their loyal AI allies find a way to undo their meddling with time? Changing the past without resorting to time travel will be but half the battle.

As good as the earlier series
Revisado: 07-08-24
I really enjoy Dietmar Wehr's work. It took me a little while to get used to the new narrator, whose version of the AIs differs significantly from the previous performer. Once I got used to it, I enjoyed the book.

Historia
It’s been eight years since an alien invasion drove a small surviving group of settlers to seek refuge in an underground shelter. Cut off from the rest of humanity, the ragtag band has maintained a narrowly functioning colony due to communal effort and salvage runs. Alex Archer has her own duties as a dog handler. While this off-world colony may be harsh, Ash, Alex’s black shepherd raised to sense threats, makes living in it a little nicer.

Great way to continue the Frontline series
Revisado: 01-10-24
I really enjoyed this book. I’m a fan of the Frontline series, and this meets the standards of those books. Marko Kloos has always been a very talented writer, but he has improved his game with this one. The story is not complex and would drag if told by a less experienced author. But Mr. Kloos has the ability to build a detailed world while keeping the reader engaged with the characters. We feel for his characters and want them to succeed. This is going to be a winner of a new series.
I know that some listeners had been upset about the changes in narrators and I've seen some negative comments about the narrator in this book. But I found Mrielle DeLisle's performance very good. Great character voices, good energy, and emotion. She brings the same level of quality to the work as Luke Daniels brought to the first few books of this series.

Improving with each book
Revisado: 03-22-23
The production quality has improved in the editing and sound levels. The writing has improved as well. It's clear that the author is thinking more about how the book will perform as an audiobook now. The relationships with the characters are getting more complex and have more dimensions. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Creative and Erotic. But had some technical issue
Revisado: 02-03-23
This book delivers what it promises, a space opera with detailed erotic scenes. There were some technical issues with the audio editing. The recording levels kept changing, showing where phases and sentences were re-recorded and spliced in. Audible usually doesn’t allow such slopping production values, but sometimes projects listed as erotic don’t get the attention or respect they should. The choice of having two voice actors in a story that is told in first person was a mistake, in my opinion. They should have just had the male narrator do the female voice as he is telling the story. I point this out because it can take the listener a while to get used to it. The story is worth sticking with it to the end despite these things. My only other criticism is a personal one. So, it shouldn’t be taken as the fault of the writing, but more my personal taste. As a man, I found that the male hero was overly obsessed with oral sex. I’m not opposed to that being part of the experience, but we never see him giving as much as he took. Having him do something more than sticking his member inside his lover would have added some variety to the scenes.

Abigail's backstory.
Revisado: 12-15-22
Renegade Star is a great series, but honestly Abigail was a more interesting character than Capt Hughes. so I was thrilled to see a spin off that told her back story. It goes back to her youth years before the other books making capable of being a stand alone. It is a little dark and graphic at times, but is a great story of how the need to belong and be loved can make people walk the dark side.

Nine hundred light-years from home, Major Andrew Grayson and the crew of NACS Washington are marooned in a sunless system with limited water, reactor fuel, and food. The last hope for survival is to go where nothing human has gone before. After embarking on a scouting mission to the only moon with surface signs of life, Andrew and his Special Tactics Team make two startling discoveries. One is a dream: a form of protein and plant life that could save the starving humans in the rogue system. The second is a nightmare: this harvested rock is infested with Lankies.

Great finish to a wonderful series.
Revisado: 10-07-22
I was a little disappointed that the last two books were really part one and part two of the same book and we had to wait a year for the second half. But I can say that they are as good as the rest of the series. The narrator did very well and there was plenty of action in this 2nd half. Thank you, Mr. Kloos. This is my favorite series.

Quality Book
Revisado: 05-03-21
I'm glad they had Kate Mulgrew narrate as the character she originated on the TV show. The story was well done, giving the reader insights into the character's back store that was only hinted at in the show. The middle part which was the Captain's reflections on things that happened during the 7 years in the Delta Quadrant was okay but came across as more of a recap of the show, then the last chapter covered events after the end of the story on TV which was worth a listen, even though it might not completely fit in with some characters that did continue on after the end of Voyager. All and all, a good book.

Manage your expectations
Revisado: 02-25-21
This is my favorite series. That being said, I share many of the same disappointments as some of the other fans. However, when you compare Mr.Kloos's work to other writers, he is still one of the best. It did take me a while to get used to the new narrator. He does a good job but doesn't always assign character voices to minor characters. There were a few times I wasn't sure if the main character was speaking or if it was another character. The story is typical of the pace and development of the other books. I was actually happy that he spent less time explaining what happened in previous books than he had done in the last book. My only disappointment in the book itself was the fact that it ended just as the action was beginning. As it was volume 1 of the story. Mr. Kloos did with his Balistic series, which I gave up on after the 2nd book didn't get much farther than the first. So, here is the bottom line. If you are a fan of this series and you go into it without high expectation, you will enjoy the book.

Firefly cranked up on Meth plus a Space Wizard!

Over rated, but okay
Revisado: 07-06-20
I hate that the ads for this book keep comparing it to Firefly. I loved Firefly, but I only "like" these books. The adventures are fun and the characters are mostly interesting. The quality is closer to a formula sitcom. If you're looking for something that is fun, offbeat, and sometimes goofy, then you will enjoy this.

There is a personal price to pay for having aligned with the wrong side in a reckless war. For Aden Jansen it's the need to adopt a new identity while keeping his past hidden. Now he's integrated himself aboard the Zephyr, a merchant ship smuggling critical goods through dangerous space. But danger is imminent on planet Gretia, as well. Under occupation, torn between postwar reformers and loyalists, it's a polestar for civil unrest.

Quality writing but disappointed in the story
Revisado: 06-10-20
I am a fan of Mr Kloss, so I was looking forward to both books. This one was very well written, but the story was slow and had too many primary characters. It would have been okay to have five different stories at once if just one of the characters had a positive outlook. Everyone was either defeated, depressed or melancholy. Then the book stopped just as something interesting finally happened.
