I've read or listened to many of Mikes books and liked them. I had a difficult time staying interested in this one. I'm not sure if it was the narrator, the story, or both. My guess is both.

The narrator isn't a good match for this story, though the first half I was interested, but lost interestand had to keep rewinding a chapter or two. I think she reads to slow (maybe). By the last 6 or so chapters. I couldn't wait for it to end so I could move on to a new book.

Not Her Best

I am a fan of this author but this book wasn't one of A.R's best. The storyline felt random and not fleshed out. It was a bit odd, actually. I hard a hard time following. This though won't deter me from reading her books because mist are quite good!

Shockingly Insightful

It's fair to say that those of us who have been married for sometime and have made our way through marital ruts, can relate to this book. It's quite realistic. I can relate to this book. Its refreshing.

Dear Narrator, slow down

What would have made Stepbrother Billionaire better?

This book may have been better if the narrator would have slowed down. Eli read this story to fast.

What was most disappointing about Colleen Masters’s story?

I didn't go into this expecting a solid 5 star rea, but I thought it'd be a good 3 star. With this said, my issue is not with Colleen, but the narrator. Colleen delivered s simple , straight foward easy listen.

Would you be willing to try another one of Eli Walker’s performances?

Maybe to find out if she always reads on high speed

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I'm not sure who would enjoy this more. The whole book reminds me of Beautiful Disaster, but with a few differences. This book just didn't catch my attention.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Killing Sarai by J. A. Redmerski.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator cannot be blamed for my opinion of this book. Viv's performance wasn't awful (3 stars for narration). I don't know Having 300+ books in my library, I've heard awful a time or two. I just didn't like the story.

Disappointment for wasting my money.

Though I'm not the biggest fan of this book I would be willing to read another of McKee's books because its possible that her books may get better as the series goes on, or her books may fall into the 'better read than listened to' category. It is unfair to scratch her off my book list without giving another chance.

A Diamond in the Ruff!

Would you consider the audio edition of Promise Me to be better than the print version?

Kate Rudd does a fantastic job narrating this book. I only listened to the audio version and found it to be rather satisfying!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I enjoyed all the characters but I gotta say..I love Sabrina's BFF Julie, and Alex as well!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I love this type of book as well as the dilemma between the two main characters! Barbie has a great talent for storytelling and I look forward to reading more from this author! She will now be on my auto purchase list!
Many romance novels are rather...cheesy because of male leads that are too perfect as well as the storyline that lacks. This story is a perfect 5 star and I've only given Diana Gabaldon, Jamie McGuire, and SC Stephens 5 stars!!
