I have read all of the Jack Reacher books and loved them. So I got this one because I do love a good mystery. I also love a good fantasy, so this was a very pleasant surprise for me. Well done.

So much of my life has been truly hard. There have been so very few happy endings for me. I have loved Susan Mallery's writing from the first book I ever read. (Pretty sure that book was Delicious). I also enjoy listening to Tanya Eby. Well done.

Life changing book

I have been heading toward growing what I eat and shopping locally for a couple of decades. This book has given me a boost back in that direction. During Covid, I did garden more, and eat more from the garden but sadly also ate more processed "comfort" foods. Time to go back to eating real foods again.

If you could sum up Spotless: Spotless, Book 1 in three words, what would they be?

I loved this book. At times it was as though the character was thinking just like I would. I'm an almost 60 year old woman who feels like I'm still in my 20's (mentally, anyway) and I loved the quirky characters. After all, one gets tired of perfect heroes and heroines. A "bad guy" with OCD? I was listening as I bought groceries and literally laughed out loud!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Spotless: Spotless, Book 1?

Her kidnapping. I think it was the second one, where she realized she did not make a good decision by going with them.

What does Amy McFadden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love to laugh. I also cried, which is a good book in my world.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, I cried, I cringed with the torture scene.

Any additional comments?

I loved the character portrayals. I get tired of all-knowing, good decision-making characters. I love to read about ones who make mistakes like we all do. And have character flaws. Yes. I love them for their flaws. It makes them more real to me.

Loved the weave of stories

I love how the stories wove together. I have looked Ken Follett's books since I was a young adult (that's about 40 years I think). And now I enjoy audiobooks that I can listen to as I clean or garden or work on crafts.

I loved the descriptions of the characters. I felt like I was there. The loyalty shown is touching.

Far better than Twilight

Where does The Host rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I "accidentally" bought this book for my daughter when it first came out because she was a Twilight fan. She refused to read it, so I did. I loved it! Now that the movie is about to come out, I wanted to re-read it, but my sit down time is limited. I do drive a lot, though, so I got the audio version. I was not disappointed. Good performance. Good listen. Great story. Highly recommend it. Nothing like Twilight. Plenty of action, great plot.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. Too long. But I did it over 4 days while driving or cleaning my house.

Definitely recommend. The character development is so much richer in a series of books. And Coulter is a master.
