Historia
Tunuva Melim is a sister of the Priory. For fifty years, she has trained to slay wyrms – but none have appeared since the Nameless One, and the younger generation is starting to question the Priory's purpose. To the north, in the Queendom of Inys, Sabran the Ambitious has married the new King of Hróth, narrowly saving both realms from ruin. Their daughter, Glorian, trails in their shadow – exactly where she wants to be. The dragons of the East have slept for centuries. Dumai has spent her life in a Seiikinese mountain temple, trying to wake the gods from their long slumber.

Historia
Medusa is the only mortal in a family of gods. Growing up with her sisters, she quickly realises that she is the only one who gets older, experiences change, feels weakness. Her mortal lifespan gives her an urgency that her family will never know. When, in Athene’s temple, desire pushes Poseidon to commit the unforgivable, Medusa’s mortal life is changed forever. Athene, furious at the sacrilege committed, directs her revenge on Medusa. The punishment is that she is turned into a Gorgon: sharp teeth, snakes for hair and a gaze that will turn any living creature to stone.

Historia
Lily Cole stars as Helen of Troy, ‘the face that launched a thousand ships’, in Simon Armitage’s vivid, visceral adaptation of Homer’s Iliad and Virgil’s Aeneid. For 10 years, the Greeks have been laying siege to Troy to win back their abducted queen, Helen. But as the war drags on, and the battlefields run scarlet with blood, the opposing forces are entrenched in a bitter stalemate. As gods and mortals squabble amongst themselves for the spoils of war, the exhausted warriors go to extreme lengths in a desperate grab for victory....

Great, but pacing was my only issue
Revisado: 03-10-23
Great story and excellent performances! My only gripe is with the pacing. It feels rushed in 6 episodes, and would have worked well with 7-8 instead.
It's a great story however and I'd recommend this and the actual book to anyone.
Having grown up in the Caribbean, we're familiar with Anansi stories and the narrative and the voice cast really do capture something unique and authentic.

authentic, could have been longer
Revisado: 03-07-22
i really enjoyed this story, but i felt it was too lean and would have benefitted from some further character and story development to flesh out what is a very rich and fascinating story.
the author delivers a story in a truly authentic Trinidadian voice that brought a smile to my face.
the voice acting was excellent, and was almost authentic, except mispronouncing a few Trini words that couldn't be ignored.

Meet the trickster god Loki and his astonishing children – the giant wolf Fenrir, Jormungundr the snake that encircles the world and Hel, the little girl who grows up to be Queen of the dead. Here, too, is Odin the all-father, who sacrificed his eye to see the future, Thor the thunderer, who defends Asgard with his fearsome strength and mighty hammer and Freya the understandably angry, most beautiful of the gods and always being gambled for by unwanted suitors.

enjoyed the story
Revisado: 10-07-19
Enjoyed the story quite a bit, with rich characters and a vivid portrayal of Trinidad.
The audiobook performance is strong however, some words are mispronounced which takes you out of the story for a moment.
