Historia
Things were bad in Arizona when the Rangers were formed. Killers, hold-up gangs, and rustlers were overrunning the state and getting away with it, and all because there were no real lawmen to bring them to justice. So when cattle boss Bertram Mosehan decided to form the Rangers, he was looking for a special breed of man. Tough. Tenacious. Incorruptible. And handy with a gun.

Can't they find good people to narrate these books
Revisado: 07-17-23
I wasn't expecting to hear the hero of this book, a tough Arizona lawman, sound like Mary Poppins. Really people read the book and learn the characters before you try to narrate a book you know nothing about.

Historia
A woman is cruelly cut down in a remote corner of Arizona, killed on her nineteenth wedding anniversary by a drunk motorist. A year later, the driver himself dies badly, and all suspicions point to the slain woman's still-grieving husband as his murderer. But the truth is rarely black and white in the long Southwestern shadows, and one law officer is not rushing to condemn the tragic widower so quickly - Joanna Brady, sheriff of Cochise County.

Great book, lousy narration
Revisado: 07-01-21
The only reason I am giving this narration one star is because they won't allow me to give it no stars. If you like J.A. Jance and can put up with this performance, more power to you. I love this author, but can not stand this narrator. Do not waste your money

Historia
Raised in poverty in Missouri, Mac is determined to find a better life for himself and the girl who is still a vague vision in his mind. Work on the Santa Fe Trail, and on a Mississippi River boat give him a start, but the years of Civil War leave him broke and footloose in South Texas. There he discovers more cattle running loose than he ever knew existed. Teaming up with two ex-Federal soldiers, he sets out to gather his wealth, one head at a time. While gathering and driving Longhorns, Mac and his friends meet an interesting collection of characters, including Margo. Mac and Margo and the crew learn about Longhorns, and life, from hard experience before they eventually head west. Outlaws and harrowing river crossings are just two of the challenges they face along their way.

Great book, lousy narration
Revisado: 06-04-21
This narrator should find another job that does not require speech. Simple words mispronounced, monotone voice and just lousy narration. I enjoy Reg Quist books, but buy the kindle edition and read it. Save your ears from this wasteful effort.

Historia
When the bodies of three teenagers were found on the shores of Lake Waco, Texas, in July 1982, even seasoned lawmen were taken aback by the savage mutilation and degradation to which they had been subjected. Yet only 52 days after the gruesome triple-murder was discovered, frustrated authorities suspended the case indefinitely. Patrol Sergeant Truman Simons, who had been called to the scene that night, saw the carnage firsthand - and vowed to find the ferocious killer or killers. He soon became a man with a mission, risking his career and his family's safety in search of evidence.

What a waste
Revisado: 06-04-21
Having lived in the Waco area when all this happened, I found the account dull and boring. I learned more Following all the news coverage of these events then from this book. I feel for these families but their stories would be better told by someone else.
