Story moves quickly and is a great blend of humor, action, and story. My main (and only) complaint is the writing which in turn hurts the audible. The author uses “he/she said” after almost every comment. When listening it gets a bit tedious. Some found it helpful because the narrator doesn’t distinguish characters and genders well. I didn’t find that to be a problem, but I did not enjoy the “hello he said, hi she said, how are you? He said, well, she said.” Author never seems to change the descriptor or use another synonym, just “pronoun said” over and over. You can tell it annoyed me, but it didn’t take away from the substance of the book.

As a millennial, the only Patriots organization I’ve known is a winning one. Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and winning football is one of the few constants in an otherwise rapidly changing world. From Darkness to Dynasty is a fabulous, thorough, and humorous review of the first forty years of Patriots’ history and all the turmoil and losses from those years. This book is a must read (or listen) for any Pats fan, especially as the Tom Brady Era comes to an end.
