Historia
No visitors. No nights spent away from the apartment. No disturbing the other residents. These are the only rules for Jules Larson's new job as apartment sitter for an elusive resident of the Bartholomew, one of Manhattan's most high-profile private buildings and home to the super rich and famous. Recently heartbroken and practically homeless, Jules accepts the terms, ready to leave her past life behind. Out of place among the extremely wealthy, Jules finds herself pulled toward other apartment sitter Ingrid. But Ingrid confides that the Bartholomew is not what it seems....

Interesting Story Irritating Characters
Revisado: 08-16-19
Very interesting idea, but I found the main female characters so intensely irritating - relentlessly cute and occasionally contemplative only in a way reminiscent of social media updates - that they distracted from the story. To add to the irritation, Ingrid was given such a gratingly childish voice that her disappearance half way through the book was a welcome relief.

We sit. We lie. We wait. We are examined. We are left alone. Emotions fritter. The door reopens. The face. Is it tinged with sadness or reassuring and open? The words. Are they easy to comprehend? Is it good news or bad? We can answer that. It’s bad. Undeniably bad. None of our authors have good news for you. The diagnosis? You already know that. Death.

Good stories, salivary rendition
Revisado: 04-05-19
Really enjoyed the stories, but almost unable to finish due to sounds of saliva from the narrator.

Awful
Revisado: 08-19-18
Good narration of weak story peopled by two of the most phenomenally annoying female characters I've ever encountered in a novel.

Nauseatingly saccharine

unbelievable storyline topped only by a thoroughly unbelievable ending. One character's capacity for forgiveness particularly beggared belief.

Incredibly Irritating
Revisado: 09-02-17
Finished this purely because I had paid for it. Story, characters (how many cliches can you fit in one book?) and rendition equally cringe-inducing.
