Deep raw story telling. Read by Moon Unit Zappa as it only could be, and should be. A lifetime, beyond imagination. Very well written. Revealing the truth of family life within the circles of overlapping industries of the world of music and Hollywood and the pressure and the tug-o-war of fame and privacy.
Glad to have a first listen. Looking forward re-listening because there is so much to take in emotionally and conceptually.

Amazing history of music and legends

Brian shares many aspects of his life and career in a revealing and inspiring collage of memories. His personal story is powerful and he give perspective of his battle with mental health and the devastation it can bring into the lives of all affected from private life to professional life. He sheds light on pain and perseverance through it. And all through this biography, he helps the reader understand the lifestyle, many Musicians deal with throughout their careers.

Outstanding as expected

As a fan of the band, Rush and a fan of audiobooks done well this was a tremendous listen for me. It’s the third in the series that provided the ability for me to pause the audiobook and listen to the particular albums, songs and review art work on the albums. I will listen again because it has gems that are worth repeating, and it brought me along a magic collection of interviews and history in sequential order.

I enjoyed the timeline, the storyline, and the personal narration. Perfect flow from chapter to chapter. It’s a perspective rarely given when so much is exaggerated or fabricated by media, dishonest journalists and sensationalism. I am glad I chose the audio book instead of hard copy for my first read. I will support through purchase of hard copies for my own library and gifts. Nice way to kick in 2023. ☮️

I wish I could get a refund for this one

I enjoy Napoleon Hill's books and publications. This particular book would be great but the narrator can't keep the character's accents the same. It's distracting because he drifts between different southern accents. Perhaps a first read for the narrator? As my title says, I wish I could get a refund for this one.

Powerful story with diamonds of wisdom

This story hits home for me in many ways. I think it also arrived at a time when so many people have been faced with dozens of difficult things in life with a pandemic and isolation from our regular routines. People struggling to make sense of what is going on in the world and in their own lives.
The story of Sophie and the mysterious man named Savy demonstrate how fragile life is and how it is so important to take control of our choices. I am grateful to have read this book and heard the audible version.
I hope this book is shared around the globe and impacts as many lives as possible.

Excellent writing, and well narrated !

I have always been a fan of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, so I was glad to find this on Audible since time and access to a place to read is slim in comparison to listening time. Warren has crafted a work of art that stands up to the legend and legacy of Petty and shares an in depth look into history on a personal level for Tom and family as well as giving the reader a taste of what the southern US experienced culturally. The life of the music industry, and it's boom and evolution is part of history that has touched some part of every persons life, regardless of them being aware of it or not and Warren weaves it into this biography in a way that reveals part of the shadows we forget are cast from its inner workings. This a book I will listen to several times, and also purchase for my physical library as well. It will be a book I gift to many people in my life.
