Historia
The Warmest December is the incredibly moving story of one Brooklyn family and the alcoholism that determined years of their lives. Narrated by Kenzie Lowe, a young woman reminiscent of Jamaica Kincaid's Annie John, as she visits her dying father and finds that choices she once thought beyond her control are very much hers to make.

The storyline is predictable but exciting in its delivery. Hilarious in places yet dark in others. Lots of cursing, but realistic! Good listen.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Historia
Born on a plantation in Charles City, Virginia, Pheby Delores Brown has lived a relatively sheltered life. Shielded by her mother’s position as the estate’s medicine woman and cherished by the Master’s sister, she is set apart from the others on the plantation, belonging to neither world. She’d been promised freedom on her eighteenth birthday, but instead of the idyllic life she imagined with her true love, Essex Henry, Pheby is forced to leave the only home she has ever known. She unexpectedly finds herself thrust into the bowels of slavery at the infamous Devil’s Half Acre.

Revisado: 11-14-16
I would like to thank Jodi for masterfully weaving a story that has captivated me in such a way. As I listened to Ruth's story, I couldn't stop asking myself, ' from where did she muster such insight?' We are all work in progress. This story is exactly what we all need to hear so that we can make those small changes toward healing. Thanks Jodi!

Wonderful story
Revisado: 05-20-14
What did you love best about Unwritten?
This story was only somewhat predictable, but unfolded in the most beautiful way.
Which character – as performed by Kevin Stillwell – was your favorite?
Steady was my favorite.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The great exchange. .. ..I believe he referred to puzzle pieces on one occasion and baggage on separate occasion, but the meaning was not missed.
Any additional comments?
I would like to compare the subtle threads of grace weaved throughout this story to those that each of us are given on a daily basis.
The volume was not consistent and I had to continually adjust my head phones manually.

Everyone needs an Uncle Willie in their life!
Revisado: 05-18-14
Where does Chasing Fireflies rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book is now in my top ten of all time favorites! This should be required reading.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Uncle Willie, Of course. The Willie-isms : )
What does Andrew Peterson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
You would totally miss the realistic south Georgia accent. Great job with that even if he mispronounced 'muscadine' and 'Sapelo'.
Any additional comments?
I was amazed at how easily this story unfolded, but was held captive by so much of the accurate description of the marshland. I fell in love with the coastal islands of Georgia about the same time as this book was being written, and hope to retire there soon.

Definitely edgy with several unexpected twist and turns. Depth of characters were rich as was character development.
