Revisado: 07-07-21
I am a huge fan of Jesse, This book is very entertaining and though I was a little disappointed that he wasn't narrating it, I found the narrator to be extremely funny and did an excellent job. Wonderful story and it made me like him even more.

Historia
Nina once bought into the idea that her fancy liberal arts degree would lead to a fulfilling career. When that dream crashed, she turned to stealing from rich kids in LA alongside her wily Irish boyfriend, Lachlan. Nina learned from the best: Her mother was the original con artist, hustling to give her daughter a decent childhood despite their wayward life. But when her mom gets sick, Nina puts everything on the line to help her, even if it means running her most audacious, dangerous scam yet.

Historia
When single mother Darcy’s son falls from a rope bridge at a local playground, life stands still. She clutches his small, limp body, frozen, until a pair of strong hands push her aside, and she watches as George, a local doctor, saves her son’s life. George, with his twinkling hazel eyes, easy charm and lack of wedding band is almost too good to be true, but coffee becomes lunch, lunch becomes dinner, and soon they can’t go an evening without seeing each other.

I have loved all of Slater’s books but this one was way to out there and not to be believed. Almost laughable when the twists and turns were revealed. It’s OK, nobody can hit it out of the park every time!

Historia
With chapters on every woman who’s ever made it to the White House, Secret Lives of the First Ladies tackles all of the tough questions that other history books are afraid to ask: How many of these women owned slaves? Which ones were cheating on their husbands? And why was Eleanor Roosevelt serving hot dogs to the King and Queen of England? American history was never this much fun in school

Very partisan
Revisado: 02-18-17
Would you try another book from Cormac O'Brien and/or Teresa DeBerry?
It is pretty obvious that the writer was a Democrat. I feel Republican first ladies were unfairly reviewed, and Democrat First Ladies were glowingly described. If you are a Democrat you will love this book.

She is so entertaining and insightful
Revisado: 12-03-15
Would you listen to Troublemaker again? Why?
This book was narrated wonderfully by Leah. I laughed constantly with her accent and her personality. She is also very insightful. She doesn't take herself too seriously and isn't afraid to bare her dirty laundry, so to speak. I just couldn't put it down.
What does Leah Remini bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her voice and personality.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed and felt moved several times.
Any additional comments?
Good for you Leah, as the late Ann Meara said to you once on the set of King of Queens, "You got it kid!" Yes you do, thanks for sharing it with us.

Historia
In this unique and compelling true-crime story, journalist and author David Yonke presents and analyzes the only case in US history in which a Roman Catholic priest was arrested for the murder of a nun. Father Gerald Robinson of Toledo, whom friends and associates described as a timid and mild-mannered man, was arrested by cold-case detectives in April, 2004, and charged in the brutal slaying of Sister Margaret Ann Pahl 24 years earlier.

Revisado: 07-28-15
What did you love best about Sin, Shame & Secrets?
I am a Practicing Catholic and was mortified by the perversions that were being covered up by the Church, but this story was simply horrific I thought. Priests are just men and should be treated like the rest of us when they've committed a crime. Very enlightening, though disturbing. I couldn't put it down. Narrator was very good.

Big disappointment.
Revisado: 11-04-14
What did you like best about Leaving Time? What did you like least?
It started off good, loved the psychic angle. Very disappointed at the ending. Don't want to give it away but apparently I'm in the small majority with all the great reviews.
What three words best describe the narrators’s performance?
I didn't care for Alice's narrator, too monotone. I fast forwarded through a lot of her part. Although I do love the changing narrators, Jodi is one of the few authors who offers that.
Could you see Leaving Time being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
NO.
Any additional comments?
She is still one of my favorite writers.

Narrator is excellent. I don't know how a family could live in what is obviously a Portal for lost spirits. Very interesting.

I thought it was going to be a thriller, but it was just a story of revenge and sexual tensions. Not for me.
