Historia
Based on thousands of pages from Leonardo's astonishing notebooks and new discoveries about his life and work, Walter Isaacson weaves a narrative that connects his art to his science. He shows how Leonardo's genius was based on skills we can improve in ourselves, such as passionate curiosity, careful observation, and an imagination so playful that it flirted with fantasy.

It is incredible that so many years later there is enough information to piece together a story about thisman's life that not only speaks of his achievements but his character and personality, to the extent that you finish the book feeling like Leonardo is someone you know personally.

a lot to take in
Revisado: 01-18-22
I found this fascinating. the beginning and the end we're quite succinct but I got lost in the middle. I found Yuval to be a bit to emotional or cynical in some parts, even sarcastic, which I get is his style but it did detract from the bigger picture.
In general I'd still say it is an important read.

Historia
In this landmark audiobook, David Epstein shows that the way to excel is by sampling widely, gaining a breadth of experiences, taking detours, experimenting relentlessly, juggling many interests - in other words, by developing range. Studying the world’s most successful athletes, artists, musicians, inventors and scientists, Epstein discovered that in most fields - especially those that are complex and unpredictable - generalists, not specialists, are primed to excel. They are also more creative, more agile and able to make connections their more specialized peers can’t see.

Enjoyed the principles but found the content a bit sensationalist American war hero in a lot of parts.
Still quite cool and brings home the leadership principles in a life or death context.

In 2016, one of the giants of modern journalism fell: Gawker Media, infamous for saying what other outlets wouldn't say, was sued for publishing Hulk Hogan's sex tape, lost the case and went bust. After countless other lawsuits it seemed that Gawker had finally run out of luck. But luck had nothing to do with it. Peter Thiel, PayPal founder and billionaire investor, had masterminded the whole thing.

Great story, weak performance.
Revisado: 04-18-18
I’m Ryan’s greatest fan but he read his other books sooooo much better than he read this one.
It was like he broke the whole book into two or three word phrases in an annoying rhythm instead of speaking freely in full sentences like in his other books.
The book is good enough to compensate, but his normal cool and relaxed accent is missing.
I hate slamming one of my hero’s but I hope it is taken constructively.
Epic story and brilliant angle. The subject of the book is not either party or the gossip but the use of conspiracy as a weapon. It is totally inspired.
