Historia
After a shout-out from one of the Internet’s superstar bloggers, Natasha “Tash” Zelenka finds herself and her obscure, amateur web series, Unhappy Families, thrust into the limelight: She’s gone viral. Her show is a modern adaptation of Anna Karenina - written by Tash’s literary love Count Lev Nikolayevich “Leo” Tolstoy. Tash is a fan of the 40,000 new subscribers, their gushing tweets, and flashy Tumblr GIFs. Not so much the pressure to deliver the best web series ever.

Been Waiting for an Audio of This One!
Revisado: 01-02-20
I’ve been waiting for Tash to get an audiobook since the book was announced! As luck would have it, Kathryn did an AMAZING giveaway with both the paperback AND audio copy.
The story was just as great as I imagined!
I loved the dynamic world that felt so real. Teens producing a web series that goes viral…And everything that comes with growing up and discovering who you are. Tash is not only discovering who she is as a rising YouTube director but also who she is as an asexual youth.
Tash’s story explores the challenges in making art, especially modern art. I loved that she was taken seriously and that the challenges in the industry (the trolls, fear, change). In the same vein, Tash’s fears of falling for someone who doesn’t understand asexuality are fully realized on the page…And I was angry, hurt, and healed for her through the story.
I loved narrator Meghan Crawford’s portrayal of emotion through the story. Highly recommend Tash Hearts Tolstoy when you’re in the mood for a contemporary with a lot of HEART!

Historia
Boys are so much better in books. At least according to Merrilee Campbell, 15, who thinks real-life chivalry is dead and there’d be nothing more romantic than having a guy woo her like the heroes in classic stories. Then she, her best friend, Eliza, and her younger sister, Rory, transfer to Reginald R. Hero Prep - where all the boys look like they've stepped off the pages of a romance novel. Merri can hardly walk across the quad without running into someone who reminds her of Romeo.

A Cute HEA
Revisado: 02-13-19
A Date with Darcy may be the cutest audiobook I listened to this year.
I am a big Tiffany Schmidt fan and adore how she writes romance. I am also into retellings of classical books (see: The Duke of Bannerman Prep) and taking a historical story and turning it modern. A Date with Darcy combines the best parts of Tiffany’s romance writing along with a retelling!
There are some points in life where you just want to listen to something light and fun - A Date with Darcy is that book. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, while also bringing in elements from classic stories we read in high school.
Plus, the main character’s motto is “boys are better in books than in real life.” Accurate.
If you’re looking for a HEA, you’re going to find it in Tiffany’s books. I can’t wait for book 2!

It’s been three years since Dario’s even seen the place, after getting legally emancipated from his father, the infamous director of Moldavia’s creature features. But then Dario’s estranged brother invites him home to a mysterious, shocking ceremony involving his father and a tribute to his first film. Dario swears his homecoming will be a onetime visit. A way for him to get closure on his past - and reunite with Hayley, his first love - and then say good-bye for good.

So Much Heart Here
Revisado: 07-25-18
A quirky and quotable contemporary tale juxtaposed over a b-movie production company. The first chapter of this book sets the tone for the journeys of the cast, crew, and one young man who is figuring out who and what he is. Dan Bittner is easily becoming a favorite narrator of mine.

Historia
You may think you know the story. Penniless orphan Jane Eyre begins a new life as a governess at Thornfield Hall, where she meets one dark, brooding Mr. Rochester - and, listener, she marries him. Or does she? Prepare for an adventure of Gothic proportions in this standalone follow-up to My Lady Jane, which was called “an utter delight” (ALA Booklist, starred review), and “an uproarious historical fantasy that’s not to be missed” (Publishers Weekly, starred review).

What a Treat!
Revisado: 07-10-18
By the time you’ve gotten to My Plain Jane, I hope you’ll have read something by one (or all!) of the three authors. In case you haven’t, let me give you a quick rundown of what you can expect with this book:
1. Laughs. Lots and lots of laughs. If you read this book and don’t have at least one moment with you snort/pee a little/giggle at an inopportune time, then you’re doing it wrong.
2. A very factual recounting of the original material. Because these ladies would never dare mess with such a treasure. And by never I mean always.
3. Ladies. Getting. Ish. Done.
4. Spooky apparitions named Helen that can’t take the hint but you wouldn’t want them to anyways.
5. A very, very good time, especially if you grab the audiobook.
Seriously, I had so much fun listening to this book that the wait for My Calamity Jane seems like eternity.

Solid Sequel with a Great Audiobook!
Revisado: 04-13-18
Would you listen to Chainbreaker again? Why?
I loved:
1. The rich & diverse set of characters & settings
2. Colton, being so brave!
3. “Time shivered”
4. Getting answers in book 2! (Like for real why can’t this happen more often)
5. Everything go buy this book right now
