Historia
Alex Armstrong has changed everything about herself—her name, her appearance, her backstory. She’s no longer the terrified teenager a rapt audience saw on television, emerging in handcuffs from the quiet suburban home the night her family was massacred. That girl, Alexandra Quinlan, nicknamed Empty Eyes, was accused of the killings, fought to clear her name, and later took the stand during her highly publicized defamation lawsuit that captured the attention of the nation. It’s been ten years since, and Alex hasn’t stopped searching for answers about the night her family was killed.

I just wanted to share how excited I am about this book summary! When I first read it, I was immediately captivated and filled with curiosity. It's the most extensive longitudinal study ever conducted on what makes people feel like they've had a truly great life. This book is absolutely amazing, and I'm incredibly grateful to the authors and researchers for sharing their insights with a wider audience.

Historia
An "epoch-defining book" (The Guardian) and "this generation’s Silent Spring" (The Washington Post), The Uninhabitable Earth is both a travelogue of the near future and a meditation on how that future will look to those living through it - the ways that warming promises to transform global politics, the meaning of technology and nature in the modern world, the sustainability of capitalism and the trajectory of human progress. The Uninhabitable Earth is also an impassioned call to action.

The Ministry for the Future is a masterpiece of the imagination, using fictional eyewitness accounts to tell the story of how climate change will affect us all. Its setting is not a desolate, post-apocalyptic world, but a future that is almost upon us - and in which we might just overcome the extraordinary challenges we face.

Fictional book? Maybe Not.
Revisado: 01-20-24
Despite being classified as fictional, it will likely happen if we continue doing Business as Usual.
Ultimately, Mother Nature will do everything possible to keep the equilibrium.

Historia
The COVID-19 pandemic isn’t over. But even as governments around the world try to get it under control, they’re also starting to talk about what happens next. How can we prevent another pandemic from killing millions of people and devastating the global economy? Can we even hope to accomplish this? Bill Gates believes the answer is yes, and he has written a largely upbeat book that lays out clearly and convincingly what the world should learn from COVID-19, explains the science of fighting pandemics, and suggests what all of us can do to help prevent another one.

How to Prevent the Next Pandemic
Revisado: 01-11-23
The last two books that I read by Bill Gates, certify me that he is my favorite author who clearly shows the path to short-term global issues solutions.
What is best regarding his books is that they are based on scientific data and already tested outcomes.
Wonderful reading.

Historia
In Why We’re Polarized, Klein reveals the structural and psychological forces behind America’s descent into division and dysfunction. Neither a polemic nor a lament, this book offers a clear framework for understanding everything from Trump’s rise to the Democratic Party’s leftward shift to the politicization of everyday culture. America is polarized, first and foremost, by identity. Everyone engaged in American politics is engaged, at some level, in identity politics.

I was expecting more, mainly waiting for an overall comparison of the situation we are experiencing all over the world.
The other criticism that I have is related to the speed of the narrative.
The author should be aware of this when making an audiobook version.

Lincoln Highway, What a great book!
Revisado: 09-07-22
How astounding the whole story is incredibly built at a perfect pace and timing. The narrators put an impressive emotion in their words.
This is the kind of book that you got anxious to reach the end of, but when you have it, you got a little bit sad, wishing for more.
Congrats to the author and the entire production of this audiobook, one of the best I ever listened to.
