Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Way of Kings to be better than the print version?
While this version, as an audio version, lacks the pictures of the print, it more than makes up for it in the performance. I have loved Michael Kramer since I heard him in The Wheel of Time and Kate Reading, despite my irrational dislike of her in Wheel of Time (The epitome of fantasy which, after the author's death, Sanderson was asked to finish), was great in this, too, convincing me to like her.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Way of Kings?
Pretty much all of it was memorable; this is Sanderson, he never disappoints. However, I would pay particular attention to Kaladin's story. He was definitely my favorite character, and his story is the best.
What does Kate Reading and Michael Kramer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Reading and Kramer bring more emotion to the roles than even Sanderson's words can manage. I found myself driving in my car listening to it and fully believing that I was in the Shattered Plains, listening to the character's speak (there are cars all over the road who saw the effects of this as I was not concentrating on my driving! oops)
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I do not usually get emotionally involved in books, but this one caught me. It is not a comedy and Sanderson does not have the sarcasm of Pratchett or Gaiman (which would be odd in his kind of fantasy, anyway), so I did not laugh, but there were several moments when I almost cried for the characters. Both the words and the reading were that good.
Any additional comments?
If you are looking for a good fantasy, stop here and (if you have a few weeks spare) listen to this over and over again. Sanderson has out done himself with this one; it is by far the best fantasy I have ever found, and I am a fantasy addict--there are few authors of the genre who I have not read/listened to.

Historia
Andy Hamilton's complete 4th Series of this comedy winner from Radio 4. Satan's got the health inspector in and it seems that the lighting in hell isn't up to scratch but that's the least of his worries, with bad Feng-Shui, no sleep and some atrocious poetry not even Helen of Troy can perk up his day. Another hex-allent series from one of the writers of Revolting People and Trevor's World of Sport.

Totally, Breathtakingly, Hilarious

Would you consider the audio edition of Old Harry's Game to be better than the print version?
Um...this is a radio show so I don't think there is a comparable print edition. But if there was, I would still go for audio. This way, you get actors acting out the parts and special effect music to add to the whole thing.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
What isn't interesting? Seriously, there isn't a dull moment! Hm...most interesting? I would say (spoiler alert!) the surprise appearance from God.
Which character – as performed by Andy Hamilton and Jimmy Mulville – was your favorite?
Andy Hamilton, who played Satan. He really convinced me that Satan, prince of darkness, was overall a nice guy. Which, now that I think about it, really shouldn't happen!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
"Hell's not a place for safety inspectors"
Any additional comments?
Make sure to listen to it with a friend, because it is impossible not to make references and think about it after listening to it. It's just that addictive.

The Tool That Helps You Study Anywhere
Revisado: 07-13-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, if you are taking AP Euro, you NEED this book. It gives details that courses just don't have enough time to cover (but are still on the test) while making them funny! And it actually helped me get a 5 on the test!
Has AP European History 2009 turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, it did not turn me off from the genre, in fact I now am I going to use this technique for all my courses.
Which scene was your favorite?
It does not really have scenes as historical periods. So my favorite period in European History? The Tudors in England.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me laugh. A lot. Who knew history could be funny?
Any additional comments?
If you are taking AP Euro, buy this book. Seriously. It means that you can study ANYWHERE. I was driving or cleaning or running and getting studying done at the same time. It seriously helps.

Best of it's kind
Revisado: 04-18-12
Would you consider the audio edition of The Eye of the World to be better than the print version?
Yes because this one has the voices done, the correct pronounciations, and even an interview with the author at the end. It trumps the written version easily!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Eye of the World?
The most memorable moment was when Rand discovers...(spoiler alert!) that he can yeild the one true power. Because, even though I had known all along, it came as a shock to him and felt like a shock to me. That, and it made me desperate to know what he does about it in the sequel.
Have you listened to any of Kate Reading and Michael Kramer ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, so I can't say, but I loved them any way!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Listen to in one sitting? Hmmm...let me think...yes! But saddly the day isn't long enough!
Any additional comments?
Awesome! What more is there to say?
