Amazing story, but the narrator could use some work.
Revisado: 10-01-23
This is an amazing book! I could hardly put it down! I cannot wait for the next one.
My only qualm is how robotic the narrator can be. Some parts even sounded AI with the lack of emotion. She has great potential, but she needs some work.

I'll never grow tired of this series! Such a world and charaters are profound and loveable! I was on the fence between Fitzpie and Sokeefe, but I'm more leaning toward Sokeefe after this one! I cannot wait for the next installment!

A tantalizing tale of intrigue and mystery, with a dash of Dracula, bats, gore, and heart racing romance!
Revisado: 09-12-18
I have very much enjoyed this series this far. Rooting for Audrey Rose and Thomas, and following their mysteries. This book was even better than the first! These characters are constantly growing, or layers being she'd one by one until their raw selves are exposed. Thomas was revealed more in this book in character wise, while Audrey Rose emotionally wise due to the outcome of the first book. I adored how the author weaved the mystery, murder, and culture in this book. I hardly put it down! I can't wait until the next!

Such a delectable, enGROSSING tale that leaves your heart pounding (or stolen)!
Revisado: 09-07-18
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. From the character development in our protagonist Audrey Rose, to even the development and subtle hint at out villainous Jack the Ripper. There's such a tapestry of mystery, gore, and some tantalising romance to keep your blood pumping and you wanting more!
I suspected the person who ended up as the Ripper all along, but the book made me second guess my suspicions all the long. And I LOVE the little electrifying twist in the end there, which sealed our Ripper's motive for his heinous crimes.

A delightful read for those who desire a simple plot and swoon worthy romance.
This book is wonderful in many aspects:
Romance
Intrigue
World building
Character development
Clean language and relationships
God and Jesus
These factors is what delighted me to read and pushed me forward to unravel Rose and Wilhelm's story.
However, there were things that left me unsatisfied:
The lack of the protagonist (Rose) displayed as a heroine. I felt Rise had the guts to step forward and do some saving herself, but she was laid waste as a damsel in distress.
There was also a lack of the protagonist's involvement in the main conflict with Montcore. I felt that she should have been an active role in finding him.
There should have been more plot twists, rather than predictability.
The villain should have had more appearances/buildup, than he had. Which made the conclusion of the conflict a bit lackluster.
Although this book was a bit lackluster in areas, I still found myself enjoying it, and binge listening!

A fantastic, epic finale to a heart pounding series!
Revisado: 03-16-18
I cannot say how much I have been enveloped by these books. My heart soared, pounded, and broke won many times that I did not know how to feel. I feel that personally know each character. Emi's character has become a close friend of mine and a heroine that I hold dearly in my heart. Shiro/Inari is the fictional boyfriend of the year for me. Even Yumei, although I wasn't too impressed by him at first, he grew on me and I come to fall head over heels for him. This plot is so epic and unpredictable that in what to listen/read it all over again. Bravo, Annette!
