Very Enjoyable
Revisado: 03-26-21
It was tough going through the angst these heroes faced, but very worth while. Had no problem with the narrator. Percy had a “voice”, and Jason has a different one. It separated the two series. It is almost like the problem ALL the heroes are about to face, hmm?
Great books.

Historia
Best-selling novelist Kate Drake is one of seven sisters gifted with amazing powers of witchcraft. Returning home in time for her northern California town's annual Christmas pageant, Kate catches the spirit of the season and decides to open a bookstore in a charming but run-down historic mill. Decorated former U.S. Army Ranger Matt Granite, now a local contractor, doesn't mind working in the undeniably eerie house -- not if it means getting closer to Kate. There's something about the quiet, sensual woman that powerfully attracts him.

Sorry, but the voices of all but the two main characters were grating. The story was good, though.

Absolutely captivating
Revisado: 02-19-20
The movie, the series, neither holds a candle to this audible book. I read this over 30 yrs ago, but time and other media attempts to tell or interpret the book messed up my memory. This audible book was a great remembrance. Loved the way it was put together and performed.

Seemed to drag on a bit
Revisado: 12-22-19
First, pleases allow me to say to those who have written that this book was nothing but sex; were you reading/listening to the same book that I was? There are sexual episodes, but these were integral to the story.
What I would critique, was that the storyline often dragged a bit for me. I wasn’t all that invested. It had really good points in it, but didn’t keep me from reading two other books in between listening.

Historia
A rumor has persisted in the vampire world of a dark slayer - a woman - who travels with a wolf pack and who destroys any vampire who crosses her path. Mysterious, elusive and seemingly impossible to kill, she is the one hunter who strikes terror into the hearts of the undead. She is Ivory Malinov. Her only brethren, the wolves. Long ago betrayed by her people, abandoned by her family, and cast out by everyone she held dear, Ivory has lived centuries without companionship or love.

Enjoy the story. Accents need work
Revisado: 10-29-19
First of all, I have read this series many times. I have also listened to many of the books. I very much liked this book. I laughed at times and cried at times. Some people got the audio book due to the male narrator, but I don’t believe they were very invested in the series. Seeing the healing of Razvan and Ivory was just great. The one problem I have with the recent books, is the way the incorporating of the Carpathian language is done. Why is it constantly repeated and then translated? I mean, they say three words to mean one. That gets old. You need to start at the beginning of the series.
As far as the narration? Phil does a good job. I believe Jane is good, but she needed to review the characters before trying different accents with them. Skylar was raised in France, Syndal has been living in America for a long time, Shea was raised in Ireland and lived in America, etc.. This has been a problem in a lot of books I have read, and is ripe in this book. At least the names were pronounced right.

Took me a little while, but was worth it
Revisado: 04-11-18
When I first began trying to listen, the female lead seemed too weird and absurd to be like able . However, after getting past this, I thoroughly enjoyed the story! Once you understand where she is coming from, Meryn was a lot of fun. Loved the part when she explained to Aiden, the difference in human women and others; and his reaction to this information. Laughed till I cried.
Charlotte Kane did a very good job as narrator.

Envy`s life was great. Great brother, great boyfriend, and the best job a girl could ask for... tending bar at the most popular clubs in the city. At least it was great until she got a call from one of her best friends about her boyfriend doing the vertical limbo on the dance floor at Moon Dance. Her decision to confront him begins a chain of events that will introduce her to a dangerous paranormal world hidden beneath the everyday humdrum. A world where people can transform into jaguars, real life vampires roam the streets, and fallen angels walk among us. Devon is a werejaguar, a little rough around the edges and one of the joint owners of Moon Dance. His world is tilted on its axis when he spies an alluring vixen with red hair dancing in his club, armed with a cynical heart and a taser.

Revisado: 04-11-18
I know when you read a book with typos, etc., it’s grating. Listening to someone reading the grammatical errors is also. Those poor folks on the dance floor withering away! Writhing is what usually is assumed. Just giving an example.
I had a difficult time telling the male voices from the female, also. Way to juvenile for my tastes! Sorry!

Good story, but BAD narration!
Revisado: 04-09-18
I have read all these stories a couple times before. If I hadn’t, and tried to just listen? I probably wouldn’t know they were much better than what was presented.
Eg: Dakota, is an American Indian shaman. She had him speaking like Tonto in the old western movies. His brother sounded worse tha a teenage mutant ninja turtle. She is just very bad at voices. It was grating. Another example was Gabriel. He almost sounded like Walter Brennan-old man voice. Sorry, but it was just bad.
The story was interesting and kept your attention, if reading it.

Not a correct rating, due to poor narration
Revisado: 01-07-18
How could the performance have been better?
Get a different narrator. This one made me stop before the first chapter was done. She made the characters sound dumb. Hated it. I now will wait a while to get her voices out of my head. Then I will read the book to give a correct assessment of what I think of it.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I REALLY hated the narration!

Quiet and aloof rock star Jake McKallister and outspoken, vivacious college student Casey Caldwell are polar opposites: Casey is bubbly and talkative; Jake is reclusive. Casey enjoyed a picturesque childhood; Jake’s childhood could only be described as a well-publicized nightmare. Jake’s life revolves around music, and Casey can’t carry a tune.

This was not a typical romance book. It was far more than a "harlequinish " story. One of the best (out of the last fifty) books I have read this year. Thank you, J Bengtssn. Narration was done well, also.
