Historia
The thrilling new novel in the number one New York Times best-selling series. In Southeast Minnesota, down on the Mississippi, a school board meeting is coming to an end. The board chairman announces that the rest of the meeting will be closed, due to personnel issues. “Issues” is correct. The proposal up for a vote before them is whether to authorize the killing of a local reporter. The vote is four to one in favor. Meanwhile, not far away, Virgil Flowers is helping out a friend by looking into a dognapping, which seems to be turning into something much bigger and uglier.

Virgil Flowers and Eric Conger are the Best Ever
Revisado: 01-11-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! The writing is clever and laugh out loud hilarious. The character development is full and robust. I got the feeling throughout that I was right there inside the story.
Which character – as performed by Eric Conger – was your favorite?
Virgil Flowers without a doubt. Eric Conger IS Virgil Flowers - the attitude, the sense of humor, the courage (or, at times, lack thereof), sexuality, playfulness. Just the best.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, because I wanted to treat myself to each listening. I listen as I go for my long daily walks and the book allowed me to enjoy my walks all the more.

Historia
Big-time Boston hoodlum Julius Ventura wants to find his only daughter's missing husband—at least that's how he puts it to Spenser and Hawk, even though its pretty clear that Julius isn't telling the whole truth. Or maybe not any part of the truth. Something about the case appeals to Spenser's passion for justice, and he launches an odyssey that takes the tough-but-tender duo with their penchant for literary allusions into the netherworld of organized crime.

Burt Reynolds should narrate every Spenser novel.

Would you listen to Chance again? Why?
Perhaps someday. Rarely listen twice.
Any additional comments?
I felt that the narrator made the book real for me - all the voices perfect. I could see the entire story unfold in my mind's eye.
