Historia
A young woman is found brutally murdered, and the main suspect is the victim's fiancé, a hideously scarred Iraq War vet known as the Burned Man. But railroad police Special Agent Sydney Rose Parnell, brought in by the Denver Major Crimes unit to help investigate, can't shake the feeling that larger forces are behind this apparent crime of passion. In the depths of an icy winter, Parnell and her K9 partner, Clyde - both haunted by their time in Iraq - descend into the world of a savage gang of rail riders.

The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Working on the case, LAPD detective Harry Bosch is reminded of the primal police rule he learned long ago: Don't look for the facts, but the glue that holds them together. Soon Harry's making some very dangerous connections, starting with a dead cop and leading to a bloody string of murders that wind from Hollywood Boulevard to the back alleys south of the border.

Enjoy the first novels that brought the world two of Agatha Christies’ most enduring detectives: Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot. The Murder at the Vicarage is the first Miss Marple mystery, one which tests all her powers of observation and deduction. In The Mysterious Affair at Styles, Captain Arthur Hastings, invalided in the Great War, is recuperating as a guest of John Cavendish at Styles Court, the "country-place" of John's autocratic old aunt, Emily Inglethorpe.

Could not get into either book. The narrator was flat and dull. Love Agatha Christie. Read each of these in hard back loved them. Waste of money and time.

Historia
The year is 2008 and Samantha Kofer's career at a huge Wall Street law firm is on the fast track - until the recession hits and she gets downsized, furloughed, escorted out of the building. Samantha, though, is one of the "lucky" associates. She's offered an opportunity to work at a legal aid clinic for one year without pay, after which there would be a slim chance that she'd get her old job back. In a matter of days Samantha moves from Manhattan to Brady, Virginia, population 2,200, in the heart of Appalachia, a part of the world she has only read about.

Avery, very, very good listen!
Revisado: 04-16-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Crunch Time to be better than the print version?
Did not read the print version.
Who was your favorite character and why?
As always my favorite character was Goldie, she gets into tangles that seem impossible to get out of, but she does with flair.
Have you listened to any of Barbara Rosenblat’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This performance was exactly as expected, very good and expressive.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It was light hearted, but there periods of sadness.
Any additional comments?
Glad they finally got rid of the jerk, he was no longer relevant. Can not wait to see who will replace his character.

NOT GOOD FOR REFERRING BACK
Revisado: 01-09-14
Would you try another book from the authors and/or Tom Parks?
I did not like this book because I was not able to follow along, neither was I able to check back to previously read sections. The marterial was useful, just could not coordinate with the study guide. Guess I need the book in hand so that I can mark it, as needed
Would you be willing to try another book from the authors? Why or why not?
Not an audio book
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
I think it was just not the format for me
Did The Daniel Plan inspire you to do anything?
Yes, I am doing it online. It is a good plan. It makes you think about what you are eating and why
It also helps you to grow spiritually.

Historia
Two dead bodies changed the course of my life that fall. One of them I knew and the other I'd never laid eyes on until I saw him in the morgue. The first was a local PI of suspect reputation. He'd been gunned down near the beach at Santa Teresa. It looked like a robbery gone bad. The other was on the beach six weeks later. He'd been sleeping rough. Probably homeless. No identification. A slip of paper with Millhone's name and number was in his pants pocket. The coroner asked her to come to the morgue to see if she could ID him.

Worse still, her seatmate never returned to the plane after the L.A. layover. Now he’s dead, in a garbage can, waiting for curbside pickup. His killer could be anyone. And a ragtag collection of thugs and psychos, not to mention the FBI, are all looking for a photograph the dead man was supposed to be carrying.
