Historia
On Prince Edward Island, aging siblings Mathew and Marilla Cuthbert decide to adopt a boy to help with chores around the farm. But when Mathew arrives at the train platform, the only living creature in sight, legs dangling from the piles of shingles where she sits, is a freckled, green-eyed, redheaded little girl. Mathew senses immediately that life at Green Gables is going to be very different. And how right he is.

Loved the Book, Didn’t Love the Narrator
Revisado: 11-19-20
Anne of Green Gables is one of favorite books of all time. The quirky, sweet main character, Anne, is drawn so realistically. In this book, we are shown all angles of her vivacious personality, and reading about her is like watching her grow up. And can we talk about the poetic language? Just the writing and the style of this book is so. Gorgeous.
Overall, it’s a magical piece of art.
However, I do NOT like the narrator. After reading all the positive reviews on this title, I really tried to like this title. But Barbara Caruso had pretty much two voices she used for all the characters: scratchy and dry. Her reading was paused and inflected at awkward times, and it didn’t sound natural, or like she was enjoying herself. She didn’t help bring the story to life; she actually detracted from the book and its youthful beauty.
There are many great readings for this lovely book. I am sad to say that this is not one of them.

This was an amazing read but Caitlin Kelly doesn’t do the best voices I mean all the girls sound like babies and toddlers . Whereas the boys sound like big stupid trolls overall this story isn’t up to my standards

Best books ever
Revisado: 08-16-20
Honestly Fablehaven is one of my all time absolute favorite book series ever. I highly recommend reading the series before trying the audible version if you are a person who cares about the narration of the book. At first I really hated the narrator and I am really glad I read it first. I really hated E.B. Stevens’ narration but the more you listen to it you will start to like the narration but honestly just read the book first Brandon Mull is the best author ever 🤓 Fablehaven is the best book series ever dragon watch series is even better

This is great!! Recommend!
Revisado: 05-25-20
The narrator did such an amazing job of bringing this experience to life, everything sounded so natural. She’s very gifted. The sounds were really relaxing. By the way, in case you’re thinking of adding this to your library, I would recommend listening from a little farther away, it makes it sound more realistic.
This is so relaxing, I tried listening to it at noon and it literally almost made me fall asleep. This is SO GOOD. If you get it, you won’t be disappointed.

WOW!!!! 😀
Revisado: 05-24-20
I don’t know if you are a fan of Beatrix Potter, but almost certainly you’ve heard of Peter Rabbit. If you have, you need to purchase this audiobook version, and if you haven’t, you still need to.
Let me start by saying how flawless Peter Batchelor is at narrating the stories. He does a great job with the different characters and has a simply incredible voice; he brought each story to life. I think he should narrate every audiobook!
Ms. Potter’s stories are so charming, and though they were written long ago, they hold this fresh, modern air that is so delightful. Each of the stories are unique and captivating, as well as HILARIOUS!! She was an amazing author.
Thank you, Audible, Peter Batchelor, and Beatrix Potter for making this incredible audiobook, it’s lovely in every way.
Lastly, I’d like to urge you to buy this book, you won’t regret it.

Historia
Hear singer, songwriter, and actor Nick Jonas lend his voice to the history of one of his favorite subjects: baseball. This unique story is written specifically to help you drift off, with no clear beginning, middle, or end, so you don’t need to follow the details too closely. In it, you’ll hear Nick Jonas describe how Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams reached legendary status, and how they shaped the three components of a perfect swin.

Pitch Perfect!! 😃
Revisado: 05-07-20
This Audible Original is only 30 minutes long, but it is worth every second. Nick Jonas does such an incredible job of narrating, I felt like he was speaking to me! While this program didn’t help me fall asleep, as it said it would, it was sheer pleasure to listen. (And I’m sure other people have fallen asleep to it.)
As far as the story goes, I feel like the author made sure to get an in-depth look at hitting stances and the perfect swing. I’m not really a baseball fan, so maybe there is something I missed, but this book was amazing and totally worth the time.
Great job, Joe McGirk and Nick Jonas, and thank you so much for recording this.

Welcome to the Sweet Tooth Ice Cream & Candy Shoppe, where the confections are a bit on the... unusual side. Rock candy that makes you weightless. Jawbreakers that make you unbreakable. Chocolate balls that make you a master of disguise. Four young friends - Nate, Summer, Trevor, and Pigeon - meet the grandmotherly Mrs. White, owner of the Sweet Tooth, and soon learn about the magical side effects of her candies.

Emily Janice Card as narrator + Brandon Mull as author = Magical perfection! 👌
Revisado: 03-03-20
First and foremost, Emily Janice Card is phenomenal as a narrator. Her performance captures the different emotions and themes and settings of the story perfectly. Each of the characters is distinctly voiced, giving them unique personalities as well as it can be done. She is such an outstanding narrator. Audible, thanks so much for choosing Emily Janice Card to narrate The Candy Shop Wars.
The actual story is incredible, too, blending real and fictitious elements together to create a wonderful book. Some parts are a little dark, but the endless intrigue and adventure kept me hanging onto every single word. It had a very satisfying ending, although it was sad when I finished, since it was so enjoyable to listen to.
I really think that Ms. Card brought the story to life in an incredible way. Her narration was more magical than the candy in the story! Without the audiobook, I actually found the book kind of hard to get into, just because of a very slow beginning. Overall, I assure you that you will not regret your purchase.
Thanks so much, Audible!!!! Love this book!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😊😊😊👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌

It’s good! 👍
Revisado: 03-02-20
LITTLE WOMEN is a classic tale of four young girls finding their place in the world and remaining true to themselves as they journey into womanhood. It’s a charming novel, and has excellent and timeless life advice sprinkled throughout the entire duration of the story.
Andrea Emmes’ performance was very good. She had a very sweet voice that goes perfectly with the story and its characters, and she pronounced things very clearly and had relatively good timing on her words, although I found some parts of the performance monotone and lacking zest. All in all, a good audiobook. You will not regret the purchase.

Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson ( Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring) brings a palpable sense of joy and exuberance to her performance of Lewis Carroll's enduring classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The young and imaginative Alice grows weary of her storybook, one "without pictures or conversations", and follows a hasty hare underground - to come face to face with a host of strange and fantastic characters.

Wonderful!
Revisado: 03-02-20
Lewis Carroll’s book, ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND is, in all respects, nonsense. However, it is also very sensical, in a way. It deserves 5 stars by itself. Scarlett Johansson is a great narrator. She gives each of the characters different emotions in their distinctive voices depending on how the story progresses. It is quite an enjoyable little book, even though it is a little short. It would probably be most appealing to 7-8 year-olds and adults, though.

With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.

Outstanding classic novel meets incredible narrator!
Revisado: 03-02-20
Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote her Anne of Green Gables many years ago, and yet every time I read it, it feels like a fresh breath of air. It is humorous, with beautiful writing and good morals.
Rachel McAdams’ performance was utterly perfect in every way. Each character had a specific tone used without going overboard on the accents and such. Her voice just flowed beautifully into the story, taking me with her. Anne of Green Gables deserves to have this narrator.
Overall, I have not a single complaint. I highly recommend this to just about anyone.
