Well written but hard to follow. Warning: Graphic violent sex
Revisado: 12-29-18
Love the narrator Joe Jameson from other authors-work and he did not disappoint here. As to the novel, it is well-written but slow in places, sometimes hard to follow. First in series so this may improve in later books. But warning (spoiler?) graphic rape scenes were too much, didn’t fit with rest of the tone. After the second such scene described in detail I decided not to finish the book.

Narration ruined this book, have reordered in Barbara Rosenblatt version
Revisado: 03-14-18
I love the Mrs Pollifax series on audiobooks narrated by Barbara Rosenblatt. She brings these intriguing stories set around the world to life, and can do characters of any age, gender and with any accent seamlessly and convincingly. She makes The protagonist Mrs. Pollifax feel like someone I would like to know! I was unaware when I purchased Mrs. Pollifax and the Second Thief that I had gotten a version that has several narrators, male and female, as though reading a play, none of which were engaging, realistic or entertaining. I reordered the book (paying again!) with Barbara Rosenblatt at the helm, and I intend to be sure she is featured before purchasing any others in the series.
