Historia
By all appearances, the town of Norick is perfect. Secluded amid a vast stretch of untamed wilderness, the settlement and her people are alone. Here, a thousand leagues into the North, the settlers have forged their own path. Here, in their isolation, the settlers have flourished. But in this idyllic mountain community, not everything is as it first seems. For William Breeve, the drunk, damaged captain of the Town Guard, Norick’s 100th anniversary celebration unfolds in a series of strange, disconcerting events. Events that make clear there’s more at work in these woods.

Outstanding Story and Listening Experience
Revisado: 08-17-22
I read this book a few years ago before the audio version came out and absolutely loved it. The audio book brings the world Kruse created even more alive! Each scene of gripping horror, humiliating failure, and glorious triumph is exclaimed wonderfully by this full cast! Listening will make you truly feel like you’re in Norick on such a fateful night. A town fully alive. A mystery dark as the night. Characters that are so real and relatable you almost feel you’re right with them experiencing their trials and tribulations, their joy and anguish, their success and failures. After the listen, I guarantee you’ll be wanting more of Norick and can’t wait for book two!

Historia
The year is 1876. Warring Indian tribes still populate America's western territories, even as lawless gold-rush towns begin to mark the landscape. In much of the country, it is still illegal to espouse evolution. Against this backdrop two monomaniacal paleontologists pillage the Wild West, hunting for dinosaur fossils while surveilling, deceiving, and sabotaging each other in a rivalry that will come to be known as the Bone Wars.

Entertaining, interesting, and semi-historical novel
Revisado: 05-29-17
As a fan of other Crichton novels, this one was great. He seamlessly weaves historical facts from an extremely interesting and (at least for me) little know period of history with a fast-paced and thrilling fictional story. His amazing ability to make the reader feel like he or she is traveling through the vast American West at such a pivotal time is unmatched. I enjoyed every minute.

Very Entertaining, Interesting, and Captivating
Revisado: 12-22-16
As my second Michael Crichton book, I must say I did not enjoy this one as much as JP, but it was still undoubtedly a fun and interesting book. Being very technical, I think having a medical background helped me enjoy this book more than I would have had I not. But regardless it is good mystery and story. My only complaint is that the ending resolves too quickly. Overall great book.
