Historia
Grieving mother Magos cuts out a piece of her deceased eleven-year-old son Santiago's lung. Acting on fierce maternal instinct and the dubious logic of an old folktale, she nurtures the lung until it gains sentience, growing into the carnivorous little Monstrilio she keeps hidden within the walls of her family's decaying Mexico City estate. Eventually, Monstrilio begins to resemble the Santiago he once was, but his innate impulses—though curbed by his biological and chosen family's communal care—threaten to destroy this fragile second chance at life.

Great story. Not so great men narrators
Revisado: 02-27-25
Such an original story. I hadn’t read anything like it in so long. I had a lot of fun. I was expecting something scarier though. The female narrators were MUCH better then the men. That’s the only reason I wouldn’t encourage the audiobook. The men didn’t had entonation and I had no clue which character was saying what dialog.

Historia
A shy young man leaves his home in rural Turkey to learn a trade in 1920s Berlin. The city's crowded streets, thriving arts scene, passionate politics and seedy cabarets provide the backdrop for a chance meeting with a woman, which will haunt him for the rest of his life. Emotionally powerful, intensely atmospheric and touchingly profound, Madonna in a Fur Coat is an unforgettable novel about new beginnings and the unfathomable nature of the human soul.

I really enjoyed the voice and intonation of the narrator. I love a good troubled love story.

Historia
It is the nineteenth century, the twilight of Europe’s bloody bacchanals, and a vampire must escape. She arrives to the coast of Buenos Aires and, for the second time in her life, watches as villages transform into a cosmopolitan city. She adapts, intermingles with humans, and attempts to be discreet.

The first part is much more interesting than the second one, but overall so good to listen in audio. It was so fun and the ending is CRAZY.
