Historia
The first three trimesters (and the fourth - those blurry newborn days) are for the baby, but the fifth trimester is when the working mom is born. No matter what the job or how you define work, you're going to have a lot of questions. When will I go back? How should I manage that initial "I want to quit" attack? Flex time or full time? How can I achieve 50/50 at home with my partner? What's the best option for childcare? Is it possible to look like I slept for eight hours instead of three? And why is there never a convenient space to pump?

A good read for the working mom!
Revisado: 01-09-20
I enjoyed this book and do believe that any mom who wants to go back to working outside the home should read it. There were a few parts that felt outdated/little sexist? (that you should be doing makeup/attire part) but the rest was really helpful on how to structure the transition back to work. I'm self-employed and still felt this book was very relevant to me and what I might experience in the upcoming months!

Historia
Prenatal nutrition can be confusing. In Real Food for Pregnancy, you will get clear answers on what to eat and why, with research to back up every recommendation. Author and specialist in prenatal nutrition Lily Nichols, RDN, CDE has taken a long and hard look at the science and discovered a wide gap between current prenatal nutrition recommendations and what foods are required for optimal health in pregnancy and for your baby's development. There has never been a more comprehensive and well-referenced resource on prenatal nutrition.

The book every pregnant woman should live by
Revisado: 09-09-19
I bought this book in hard copy and on audible. I wanted to be able to listen to it as well as have a hard copy to reference (and so my husband could read it too). I have learned so much about proper nutrition during my pregnancy. It was recommended by two different nurse midwives and a registered dietician. All of them saying it should have been part of their curriculum training. It has helped calm my nerves about what to eat and the why behind it. I highly recommend it!

Listen and learn

I could listen, walk, read anything and everything Samin Nosrat. I highly suggest listening to this book after watching her on the Netflix series. Her personality shines through as she reads the book. You don't have to be an expert cook to take valuable information away and directly apply it to cooking your meals.

Historia
No Happy Endings is an audiobook for people living life after life has fallen apart. It’s an audiobook for people who know they’re moving forward, not moving on. It’s an audiobook for people who know life isn’t always happy, but it isn’t the end: There will be unimaginable joy and incomprehensible tragedy. As Nora reminds us, there will be no happy endings - but there will be new beginnings.

A must read - and even better listen
Revisado: 03-29-19
Nora McInerny - author, beautifully narrates her second book. But seriously, her voice is beautiful - and it's very, very well-read. Think Michelle Obama.
Even if you bought the hard cover - plan on buying here on Audible.
The day the book launched, I listened to about half of it...then wrapped it up over the following three days. While I'm familiar with some of Nora's story (what she's shared publicly and through the Still Kickin organization) - she shares more in depth her experience with grief, love, relationships, and so much more. The letters to her kids, reminded me of the letters my dad wrote to me growing up.
While the title reads "No Happy Endings" - I found the book to be encouraging and hopeful. Encouraged to share how much I love the ones around me - and hopeful that my deep feelings, are valid.
Thank you Nora.
