Great suspense

This author is new to me and I look forward to reading more. Excellent characters and plot twists. The one drawback for me was difficulty with frequent shifts from present to past time and numerous different characters' POV being utilized to tell the story. I backed up to the beginning of chapters numerous times. However, it's a gripping story that I really enjoyed.

The characters are interesting, and it's not obvious that there will be HEA. The narration is excellent! I'm new to this author and will seek out more of her books.

total crap and a potty mouth

I listened for 40 minutes and didn't laugh once, but something in Little League was "a dick move" and in band there were "a couple pricks." I'm out; thank goodness this was free, because I got exactly what I paid for. Nothing. Oh, and there are about 6 people laughing; I can only assume he made sure he had family members at the event they recorded.

not an author I need to read again

First, the male narrator is horrible. Squeaky, high pitched voice for what's supposed to be a big, tough professional hockey player. Almost quit listening to the book because he is pathetic. 1 star for him and 3 for the female narrator.

I don't need to hear book 2; although this introduces several other characters. I read lots of KA and barely notice swearing and was totally sick of hearing about "mouth fucking" by about the 4th chapter. I like the word kissing and you just add adjectives like hard, wet, intense, etc. Why constantly say mouth fucking instead? Seems lazy to me. Onward, to read better authors!

KA at her best

Fantastic book. A standalone title and she often writes series. I highly recommend this book for KA lovers and anyone new to her books.

same family as Kulti

For me, Mariana Zapata has been a lovely discovery as a great author. She creates really interesting conflict between main characters and the secondary characters are fun. The kids in this one are fantastic, and I am not even a parent. The people from the book Kulti make an appearance, because they're extended family. A very enjoyable book!

Great story with mediocre narration

Any narrator who can't pronounce mischievous is going to get a max 3 stars, and she doesn't do much to differentiate male voices from one another.

Therefore a great story with LOTS of characters is difficult to keep up with in audio form. Really fun plot and interesting storyline. I'll listen to this book again and look forward to more in the series.

There is explicit sex; if that bothers you... or not.

A wonderful historical with teen main characters, but I enjoyed it very much as an adult. Will be reading more in the series. So glad I discovered this author recently.

Charming story with unique characters

This story has an originality to its plot which reminds me of Darynda Jones' First Grave book. Delightful historical setting with a strong female lead, during a time when women were NOT rewarded for strength of any kind.

There is some unsavory scientific experimentation, if you don't want to read/hear about conscienceless human behavior.

A decent fantasy story

This is a fantasy, with gods such as Odin playing with human lives. I enjoyed it, although if you don't want a graphic sex scene skip this title. The narration is decent.

Not similar to other books by this author, and if I had known that I wouldn't have made the purchase. But I got it on a sale, so for less than the cost of going to the movie theatre...
