Historia
In this groundbreaking book, John Morrison examines the theory of evolution currently being taught in high schools and colleges across the world. This planet was once nothing but liquid and gas, but somehow, over billions of years, the countless number of living organisms currently on Earth came into existence. This includes humans descending from apes. Once the currently taught theory is understood, John then proceeds to explain what the textbooks don't teach, which puts the theory of evolution in a new light.

Good subject, bad author
Revisado: 05-23-23
Although the author covered some very important topics he was sloppy with his logic and short on details. In truth, he seemed childish and flippant. I agree with his basic conclusions but this isn’t a book you can hand to someone else to persuade them since the writer made so many boneheaded mistakes.

This is the most important thing I’ve read in decades! Dr. Heiser has opened up a whole new layer of scripture. This book will be studied for the next 50 years.

Weird Audio

The guy doing the reading is smooth, but over and over there are places that have obviously been interjected (or seem so). The volume and relative stress suddenly change. It's off-putting, but certainly doesn't ruin the book.

Historia
In 1177 B.C., marauding groups known only as the "Sea Peoples" invaded Egypt. The pharaoh’s army and navy managed to defeat them, but the victory so weakened Egypt that it soon slid into decline, as did most of the surrounding civilizations. After centuries of brilliance, the civilized world of the Bronze Age came to an abrupt and cataclysmic end. Kingdoms fell like dominoes over the course of just a few decades. No more Minoans or Mycenaeans. No more Trojans, Hittites, or Babylonians.

What did you like best about 1177 B.C.? What did you like least?
The subject matter is very interesting although the backstory seems overly involved and protracted. What really stood out though was the sing song nature of the narration. It was like he was reading a children's book... or something.. his rhythm and tonalities weren't congruent with the subject matter.

Any additional comments?
This book is worthless. In fact, I believe the author knew it was worthless. The first half or more is preaching to the listener about why the listener SHOULD memorize the Bible. The second half basically just says to sit down and memorize by rote one verse, then the next verse etc.
