Just wasn’t for me

The narrators were awesome. They did a really good job of bringing multiple characters to life without confusion (that’s hard for many to do). The story was beautifully written, it just wasn’t for me. I felt like it dragged on. I repeated a lot of chapters because I zoned out.

The narration is chef’s kiss. The storyline is great. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen- the story takes a left. It was a great read. I cannot wait for the next book,

I liked the story….. but

It’s a delightfully messy, age gap, best friend’s brother love story. I liked the story. I love dual POV’s, I just wish that the first half of Lex’s POV wasn’t a recap of Charlie’s POV (the previous chapter). Charlie seems a bit immature and impulsive. Adult Lex with an English accent is off putting (the male narrator is just fine) since young Lex is not English. His living in Europe for 9 years is not enough of a reason for the complete voice change.

Loved the story, wish the female narrator was different

Catharina has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I just wish Morae wasn’t the female narrator. She isn’t the easiest to listen to. She comes off as “older” and too breathy at times. I read most of serenity’s chapters because the believability was off in my opinion. Troy saved the audio on this one. Loved the storyline though.

I wanted to hate it…. Instead, I love it

I very rarely write a review for a book. For this one, I HAVE to. It’s so beautifully written. I went into this blind, expecting an angsty romance. What I got is a posthumous love story wrapped in a present love story. This was about forgiveness and accountability and choosing to forgive yourself. I found myself so incredibly sad and angry with Kellan but in love with his character in equal measures when I realized he was the glue for those he loved. A must read. It is my favorite book to date. I’ve purchased the hardback, kindle edition and have gifted a copy to my niece….. check your trigger warnings and take the chance, it’s worth it.

The female narrator ruined this whole thing for me. I absolutely adore Teddy Hamilton. He is the saving grace of this performance. The story could’ve spent a little more time on Lilly’s backstory but overall I love it. Catharina writes such beautifully broken men. I love them all… just the dang female narrator. Makes me sorry this is duet narration.

I just love a book with witty banter! The performances by both Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers was spot on! He falls first. Competition. I wish it were longer. I can’t wait for the next book!!
