Historia
Silent Spring meets Erin Brockovich in this eye-opening, riveting true story of the lawyer who spent two decades building a case against DuPont for its use of the hazardous, unregulated chemical PFOA, uncovering a history of environmental contamination that affects virtually every person on the planet, and the heartless behavior that kept it a secret for 60 years.

Compelling, inspiring and frightening, all at once
Revisado: 11-12-24
This book is a must-read. It unveils the lust of corporate greed, while painting a beautiful portrait of the character of one American man, and the culture from which he came. Because of the boldness and bravery of one farmer, a man named Jim Tennant, and his (somewhat reluctant, in the beginning) lawyer, Robert Bilott, and the judges and lawyers who served and fought with him, we have an opportunity to remove some of the carcinogenic toxins from our drinking water. In a sense, it’s a heartbreaking story, because it took so long and most of this man’s best years of his life, but it’s also heartwarming, because he cared enough to fight.
Written by a lawyer, it’s not just a true story and worthy from that perspective, but it’s also obviously a good read. His language is precise, and is clear for the layman to understand all of the scientific language and red tape that he spent years wading through. I laughed and cried, and felt emotionally spent as he fought his battles to tell the truth about what DuPont was hiding in the Ohio Valley for so long.

Historia
Rock and roll in the BC (Before Cooper) era was a tamer, milder world. In Who I Really Am, Cooper’s latest addition to Audible’s Words + Music series, we learn how the boa-wearing (not the feathered kind) maestro arrived at a show and sound - let’s call it AC for After Cooper - that has entertained millions of kids while terrifying parents in equal measure. Cooper drew inspiration from Saturday matinee horror movies, applied a "no such thing as too much" attitude, and hitched it to a kick-ass rock and roll band.

Who he really is…
Revisado: 11-11-21
Is an honest guy who returned to his roots— but he lived a hell of a ride, along the way. I can remember singing “Schools Out” on the last day of school, in the back of the bus for probably six years of my childhood and adolescence! I was not an Alice Cooper fan then, but I am now! An enthralling read, and an even better listen
