Narrators are so important!
Revisado: 08-13-22
I love these stories and the carry over characters. They become your friends. The narrator is terrible and needs to be replaced. She makes Bay sound like a 5 year old instead of a 30 year old woman. Her narration makes it hard to finish the stories she reads. I might have to forget the audible versions and go to Kindle to finish the series. Love the characters... dislike the reader. She might be good reading children's stories.

Historia
In book 16 in the series, Abby is offered the chance to participate in an author event being held at Firehouse Books with one of her own favorite authors. When the guest author turns up dead, Abby realizes that clues to the author’s death could be found in the new novel the woman had yet to release. Using her own sleuthing skills, Abby jumps into the investigation after it becomes clear that it just might take an author to find the meaning in the pages.

Good story
Revisado: 05-25-22
I've bought several of these audio books and tried several times to listen to them but the narrators voice is terrible! her influction drives me little girl learning how to read. I think this author would have better luck with a different reader. Don't waste your money because it will be hard to finish the book.

Historia
After suffering a personal tragedy, Abby Sullivan buys a huge, old seaside mansion she has never even seen, packs up her life in San Francisco, and moves to Holiday Bay Maine, where she is adopted, quite against her will, by a huge Maine Coon Cat named Rufus, a drifter with her own tragic past named Georgia, and a giant dog with an inferiority complex named Ramos. What Abby thought she needed was alone time to heal. What she ended up with was, an inn she never knew she wanted, a cat she couldn't seem to convince to leave, and a new family she'd never be able to live without.

Great story, Terrible narrator!!
Revisado: 08-15-21
The each story is great with characters that carry through all the books. Each one is exciting and keeps your interest. it's hard to quit reading. I thought I would try the Audible but the reader is a monotone with a voice like fingernails on a blackboard. I'll finish the series but I'll read it on Kindle. There are so many excellent readers on Audible to waste money on this one!

Revisado: 01-26-20
Now i know why I hadn't bought this book sooner... the reader is terrible. I was ready to quit before chapter one was done. I'll buy it on Kindle and read it myself. Thank goodness Janet Evanovich found a much better reader for the rest of her books.

America's favorite bounty hunter is back behind the wheel in her fifth hilarious, high-octane thriller. Out of bail skippers and rent money, Stephanie Plum strikes out on her own. Okay, so a scumball blows himself to bits on her first day of policing a crack house, and the sheik she was chauffeuring steals the limo. But hey, nobody's perfect.

Stephanie strikes again!
Revisado: 04-16-19
Good story but short. I love Stephanie and her adventures with the regulars... Grandma, Lula, Morelli and Ranger. Downside is the narrator! Reads in a monatone at varying speeds with no individual distinction of voices. As much as I love Stephanie, it was a struggle to get through the story. So glad it was a short one.

Revisado: 03-09-19
The character development is great. Author takes you to an unseen community with a group of special talented individuals who go about their lives with unique problems. it's all the things I love... mystery, romance, intrigue with new characters you quickly become engrossed with. Narrator does an excellent job reading each character with voices that allow you to visualize each one interacting together. Can't wait to see what happens next!!

She's not sure which will happen first - another witch killing her for her powers, or the ruling council punishing her for misuse of magic. Murder strikes quickly. When a witchy gossip columnist dies, the peaceful convention turns riotous. Was the witch murdered for spreading lies, or for stealing magic? And was it coincidence that she ate Dylan's dessert? Southern Witches!!
Revisado: 09-05-18
l read the Kindle versions of Book 1 and loved it. I decided to try the audio version of Book 2. I tried 4 times to listen to it and would stop every time before chapter 3. I finally realized I couldn't stand the reader's fake "southern" accent. She makes the characters sounds like a bunch of southern hicks! While the story might have been worth reading I couldn't get past the reader. From now on if I ever try another book in this series I'll definitely go for the Kindle written version!

Historia
The anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history - how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfill Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices are not appeased....

An Education!
Revisado: 01-01-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Killing Lincoln to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version yet. The audio gave you the feeling of
What was one of the most memorable moments of Killing Lincoln?
One of the most memorable moments in the book was hearing about the devastation of Richmond VA caused by the citizens and not the armies.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration could have been a little more enthusiastically read. At times it seemed to need more influctuation in O'Reilly's tone of voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
As a great fan of Lincoln's, the whole suspense of Booth's actions at Ford Theater and then moving Lincoln's body across the street brought tears to my eyes and gave me a heavy heart. O'Reilly's descriptive narrative made you feel the emotions as if you were an eyewitness, but unable to do anything to stop the inevitable outcome.
Any additional comments?
I would highly recommend this book. You learn as much about the political atmosphere and Civil War battles of the time, as you do about the assassination itself. The detail is amazing and I can only imagine the hours, months and years of research that went into such a detailed descriptive narrative of true history!
