Amazing! All the history behind Stevie Wonder’s albums!
Revisado: 09-27-24
The interviews of folks in the making of each album brought rich meaning and understanding of the man and artist who created these albums. The organized structure of each episode covering an album brought movement and memories in my mind of those cultural moments in our history as Americans in the 70s and 80s. The final interview with Stevie Wonder himself that I hoped would happen and did brought thanksgiving from my heart to God who is the One who blessed this man with so much giftedness in rhythm and music. A musical icon. Really loved this! Thank you!

Historia
Written after his wife's tragic death as a way of surviving the "mad midnight moment," A Grief Observed is C.S. Lewis's honest reflection on the fundamental issues of life, death, and faith in the midst of loss. This work contains his concise, genuine reflections on that period: "Nothing will shake a man - or at any rate a man like me - out of his merely verbal thinking and his merely notional beliefs. He has to be knocked silly before he comes to his senses. Only torture will bring out the truth. Only under torture does he discover it himself."

Endearing Sorrow while Surprising Relief
Revisado: 07-18-23
I am awestruck by the depth and height of his giant intellect yet this time drawn into the shared human and very personal sorrow of losing your beloved soulmate to death in expressions I understand and find so very helpful. The sting is real and the hope of strength to bear is lit by an other world hand whose presence grows with each chapter. C.S. Lewis is truly a gifted friend to share his grief with us in descriptions his alone, marvelously classic.

Historia
The only novel written by Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights was originally published under the pseudonym Ellis Bell, and at first was thought to be the work of Emily's sister, Charlotte, the author of the classic, Jane Eyre. Wuthering Heights tells the tale of Heathcliff, a young orphaned gypsy boy, who is brought to the windswept moors of Yorkshire by Mr. Earnshaw, the master of Wuthering Heights.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 07-11-23
I could not put this down! Had read in high school lit class but was confused and bored, and with this reading I was riveted and sensed actually standing in the hallway of the Grange or beside Nelly as she narrated the unfolding of Wuthuring Heights tales to Mr. Lockwood. Fascinating character development at its best - could sympathize with Catherine’s selfishness and Heathcliffe’s anger and the frailty of romantic loves. Excellent reader! Kept me totally enthralled to the end!

Historia
In 1844, two years before the Donner Party, the Stevens-Murphy company left Missouri to be the first wagons into California through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Mostly Irish Catholics, the party sought religious freedom and education in the mission-dominated land and enjoyed a safe journey - until October, when a heavy snowstorm forced difficult decisions. The first of many for young Mary Sullivan, newlywed Sarah Montgomery, the widow Ellen Murphy, and her pregnant sister-in-law Maolisa.

Exciting History of Crossing to California
Revisado: 01-10-20
I love historical fiction that moves me- to feel the cold icy wind that can throw thoughts of despairing paralyzing fear into these pioneers, and still they conquered by one more day tenacity and group problem solving risks - this is a story that is the backstory of the 1840s pioneers to California. The author kept me cheering and reading on. Five stars!
