If you like Batman, and Batman origin story, then you would love this book. The characters have excellent development there's a depth to the character roster. It is well told , well-ridden and well-spoken. Well worth your time and money.

far too much death

I listened to all three of these books and the entire time I was hoping they would get better. this book was all about death and the worst impulses of humanity. I really prefer my science fiction with more science attached to it. there was way too much of the "sacrifice for the greater good" nonsense that too many lazy authors use. there was far too much of the wanton death and the disposability of human life, that lazy authors use to try and get their readers to sympathize with the characters. there was far too much jumping around of plot lines and poor character development. this book looks as if it was written by a first year author. I was extremely disappointed. You may wonder why I listened to all three books then, it's because I was hopeful that it would get better. But, I was sorely disappointed.

I read the Gideon series first so this was a complete let down. the character development was the problem. Except for the main character and his was boring and poorly constructed. if you like the Gideon series skip this one, you will be diaspointed.

Wonderful story of time travel wonderfully told. The science was well balanced with the fiction. The verbal imagery was complete and the plot had no holes. A wonderful story.

This was one of the worse books I have ever experienced. This book had no science in it at all. In fact, it seems as if it was written by someone who purposely refused to listen in science class. This writer is either a child of a first time writer. The story relies on death, pain a tragedy to make it seems interesting. There is no character development and the story is just one dimensional. Normally I keep listening hoping that it will get better but I could not even finish this book at all. It went from one hopeless death and tragedy after another. I am grateful for the return policy.

most science fiction readers have a basic knowledge of science this book was all fiction and bad writing to boot. characters were one-dimensional unsympathetic and boring. I felt nothing for any of them. Such a disappointment.

two-dimensional and simplistic

the characters were weak and small and undeveloped the female characters was prophetically insulting weak and there was only one story arc. A good book for $4, switch I got it for, but not worth much more. If you like gaming a good book.
