Great finish to a great trilogy
Revisado: 03-24-21
The 1st two books of this trilogy were captivating an extremely well written and narrated, but the 3rd book brings a new level of depth and complexity to the the story. As well written as the story is, Heather Auden brings it to life in a way that no individual reader could do on their own. Endtimes masterfully juggles somewhere around 20 significant characters whose individual personalities are strengthened and synchronized through an obviously strong bond between author, manusdript, and narrator. Well Behaved Women, Endtimes is indisputable evidence that you don't need male heroes to support a great story.... in fact, you don't need a single active male character! You may be surprised, but you won't be disappointed.

Historia
Greg Donahue’s The Minuteman, tells the story of one of Newark’s native sons; ex-prizefighter and longtime Zwillman enforcer Sidney Abramowitz, a.k.a. Nat Arno, who took over leadership of the Minutemen in 1934 and made it his personal business to put an end to what he saw as the Bund’s “anti-American” activities. For six years, Arno and his crew of vigilantes battled Newark’s Nazis at every turn. The Minuteman is a story of the ethics of violence in the face of fascism; a forgotten legacy that is as relevant now as it was nearly a hundred years ago.

A quick but very interesting read about the time period when both of my parents were growing up as young children in America. Despite the stories obvious bias it's enlightning to understand the scale and scope of antisemitism and nazi alliegance in that time

Historia
New York Times White House correspondent Mark Landler takes us behind the speeches and press conferences, to the Situation Room debates and picnic-table lunches, where Obama and Clinton honed their two competing worldviews: his, cautious, inward-looking, suffused with a sense of limits; hers, muscular, optimistic, unabashedly old-fashioned.

A must read for voting Americans
Revisado: 06-18-16
Don't pass this up because you're a republican or card caring Hillary or Obama hater. Worth the educational value alone, this book provides a reasonably unbiased insight to eight years of important policy and decision making regardless of which side of the fence you reside on the issues themselves.

Historia
In this sweeping narrative, which takes us from the Stone Age to the Information Age, Robert Wright unveils an astonishing discovery: there is a hidden pattern that the great monotheistic faiths have followed as they have evolved. Through the prisms of archeology, theology, and evolutionary psychology, Wright's findings overturn basic assumptions about Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and are sure to cause controversy.

Life changing experience?
Revisado: 02-22-16
It certainly was for me. It is so important to understand the origins of cultural and social elements of our lives. This book should be required reading for every adult human being. It is so thoroughly informative that I intend to immediately listen again and study it like a college course. get it. If you regret reading it will probably be for the right reasons. truth can sometimes be hard to accept.

Historia
I decided to write an article for people who want to understand the basic rules that are used in meetings. What are these rules? They are the guidelines for conducting a meeting, allowing business to be carried out as smoothly and orderly as possible. Although I will not be able to detail the many nuances and special rules, the basics needed to conduct a meeting are explained that should help a meeting stay on track from start to finish.

slow down and take a whole hour
Revisado: 11-14-15
What did you like best about The Basics of Robert's Rules of Order? What did you like least?
The subject matter was extremely basic for such a complex subject, but the unnecessary speed in which it was presented made it overly complicated to listen to. All the author and narrator needed to do was leave a second between sentences and perhaps several seconds between subjects to allow time to process what was being delivered. I had to listen to much of it a second time which defeats the authors obvious priority which was to deliver this in as short a time as possible. There was not enough information in the short presentation to warrant spending the money unless you literally had to chair a meeting that same day and hadn't a clue where to start.
Would you be willing to try another book from Dr. Earl E. Paul? Why or why not?
No.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Dr. Earl E. Paul?
Yes
Could you see The Basics of Robert's Rules of Order being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No
Any additional comments?
Don't buy it... and return it if you did and can.

great book. .. missing Ryan
Revisado: 08-01-15
I loved the book. It provides interesting insight into Ryan the man and politician without being an autobiography. this book is 100% about Ryans hopes and plans for the republican party and our country with just enough insight to how and why he has arrived at those conclusions. this should be a template for every politicians statements and should be read carefully by every American regardless of party affiliation

Historia
In 2010, Scott Walker was elected governor of Wisconsin with a mandate to improve its economy and restore fiscal responsibility. With the state facing a $3.6 billion budget deficit, he proposed a series of reforms to limit the collective bargaining power of public employee unions, which was costing taxpayers billions in pension and health care costs. The reaction was swift and severe. Angry protesters gathered outside the capitol, teacher unions accused him of sabotaging education, and the media descended on Wisconsin to make it a national controversy.

Great story...but not what I expected
Revisado: 07-29-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Great insight to Scott Walker the Governor and terrific explanation from his perspective of what went on in Wisconsin. I was expecting a little more insight to Walker the potential presidential candidate. That was lacking as I don't think he's going to run an anti-collective bargaining campaign and win.
What did you like best about this story?
Walker read it. I felt like I got to know him and it was nice to hear the authors proper inflection and emphasis.
What does Scott Walker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His own personality and emphasis.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
