Historia
Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview - to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job?

Adorable, feisty FMC! Great story.
Revisado: 03-16-25
I don’t normally leave reviews—it’s not that I don’t love the books I read, it’s that, usually, I can’t put my thoughts into words immediately and then I forget to go back later to leave review. But not this time! My thoughts are immediately screaming WOW!!! What an adorably exciting and entertaining story. The FMC is a bad a** (although she’s not so sure), and the three hot Mages that are her romantic possibilities are wonderfully goofy, protective, and sexy all at once. The world building, character development, and plot are all well-done. The story is not spicy, so don’t go into it expecting that. It is a well-written, entertaining, and insightful story about power, fear, and belonging. I highly recommend.
Oh, the narration is spot on! Melodic female voice, good tempo, not bad on the male characters.

Historia
Sasha Covey needs a rewrite. Or a really big eraser. Her past doesn't belong in the life she's trying to rebuild. Her future - and her recovery - depend on a fresh start. Moving to Colebury seems like the perfect test until Penley Brooks waltzes into the Busy Bean. The handsome veterinarian is just as charming as when she fell for him a decade ago. Memories come flooding back, and their connection is as potent as ever.

I never leave reviews, but…
Revisado: 09-25-24
This book has impact. It’s a touching, beautifully written, emotional journey through a couple’s walk as they navigate her mental illness, his fear, and the challenges for their relationship those things imply.
As a person with a severe mental illness, I related to the struggles they faced, the battle Sasha fought daily, and the destructive power of silence when dealing with illness and its repercussions. I felt seen and I cried at several points in my listen to this book. Sometimes, they were tears of pain for the resonance with my own experience the story fostered, and sometimes, they were tears of joy for the sustaining possibilities of love. Then, sometimes they were tears of hope; surely, if there was recovery and love for them, then there could be for me as well.
If you want an uplifting, cathartic, and refreshingly entertaining story, this book is for you! You won’t regret it.
Oh, and btw, the narrators are excellent! Good “book boyfriend” vibes. 😉😊

Historia
Five hundred years ago, I fell in love with a vampire. It was a crimson fever that consumed me. I gave up my home, my family, and my pack to be with her. She obliterated my heart at the first opportunity. Our fates are bound whether I like it or not. If she dies, I die. She may have a death wish, but I don't. When she decides to risk everything for revenge, I have no choice but to stop her and find a way to be free of the vow I made. But surviving the dangers of Ellnesari together might not have the outcome I expect.

Omg! What a betrayal!!!
Revisado: 02-02-24
Every other book in this series ended with a revelation and some sort of resolution to a main character’s love-interest “crisis.”
This book does neither. Rather it leaves the entire story hanging…just dangling there, not even tipped over either edge of the main conflict yet. Everything is left unresolved and at the height of the conflict with no idea which way it may go, a cliffhanger, if you will. The reason I’m mad is because it seems like a dirty trick to do this after setting the expectation for closure in the rest of the series. It feels like a tease. 🫤So, the sequel should come out soon, that’s the only fair thing to do after all. Please? 🥹 Although the entire series is good, and I do recommend it, don’t read this book until the sequel comes out, unless of course you prefer to be left breathless and wanting more. 😉

Historia
She used to work for the US government, but very few people ever knew that. An expert in her field, she was one of the darkest secrets of an agency so clandestine it doesn't even have a name. And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning. Now she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They've killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.

Superb characterization and spell-binding plot
Revisado: 07-18-20
JK Rowling’s book, written under a pseudonym, does not disappoint. It is a well-written, suspense-laden story told in the impeccable writing of a masterful storyteller. Cormoran Strike is a rough, but sympathetic protagonist and his assistant Robin has the potential to be more in the upcoming sequel. I like the details given and the twists in the plot. This is an entertaining read or listen and I highly recommend it. The narrator does an outstanding and consistent job of reading the story with adroit changes in tone and inflection to bring to life the story’s voices. Give it a listen—you’ll definitely enjoy yourself throughout!

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

An Excellent Psychological Thriller
Revisado: 09-21-19
Rachel, Meghan, and Anna—three flawed women with troublesome relationships with men and, consequently, flawed perceptions of themselves. Through their voices, Hawkins masterfully allows each of these interesting characters to unsnarl the tumultuous din of their own inner voices, insecurities, and past and present demons.
As the story unfolds, we learn how these women’s lives are intermingled. By the end of the novel, we understand how the inner personal journeys each woman travelled led to the inevitable resolution of the story; each woman inexorably linked to the others. Although these women are flawed and sometimes hard to like—they each have some personal angst to air out that sometimes makes them seem a bit self-absorbed and shallow—they are easy to love and forgive their shortfalls as they grow emotionally, and mentally. While trying to solve the dilemma of her own blighted memories, Rachel becomes embroiled in the mystery that serves as the driving force behind the novel’s tightly woven plot. Anna must come to terms with her own misperceptions of herself and the part she plays in this novel’s mystery. Meghan must face her inner demons, forgive herself, and learn to cope in a much healthier fashion. By the story’s end, each woman is able to realize and tap into her own strength and come to a place of self-reliance. By resolving the mystery that drives each woman’s behavior in the story, they learn why their lives will forevermore be connected.
The narration of this audiobook is exceptional! Each performer gives a stellar voice to her character. The tone of each narrators voice is soothing and easy to hear. The audiobook is one of my favorites, giving me great enjoyment each time I listen to it! I highly recommend this novel!!!
