Historia
Leadership expert Sally Helgesen and best-selling leadership coach Marshall Goldsmith have trained thousands of high achievers - men and women - to reach even greater heights. Again and again, they see that women face specific and different road blocks from men as they advance in the workplace. In fact, the very habits that helped women early in their careers can hinder them as they move up. Simply put, what got you here won't get you there...and you might not even realize your blind spots until it's too late.

Odd Yone
Revisado: 04-15-25
There is this persistent tone or theme that has to tell the listener that they are so amazing. Self reflection is typically the best here there is an effort to blame coworker and degrade men in order to motivate some small behavioral change when identifying the behavior and its failing should be sufficent.

How do so many believe this book
Revisado: 02-24-25
I have never listen to a bigger collection of narcissist pseudo science. The wide adoption to this is a symptom of terrible education and modern spirituality. It did.make me laugh really hard when it makes the claim that if you get sick it was your thinking. Because Viruses don't exist or something like that.

Run a Google search for “black girls” - what will you find? “Big Booty” and other sexually explicit terms are likely to come up as top search terms. But, if you type in “white girls”, the results are radically different. The suggested porn sites and un-moderated discussions about “why black women are so sassy” or “why black women are so angry” presents a disturbing portrait of black womanhood in modern society. In Algorithms of Oppression, Safiya Umoja Noble challenges the idea that search engines like Google offer an equal playing field for all forms of ideas, identities, and activities.

Historia
The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

Who tip tipping point past the tipping point
Revisado: 01-23-24
book looks post hoc at things that reached exponential growth then assigns un quantified value to them.
the only lesson is the the reasons thing "go viral" have multi factors. it pretains to assign those "special people" or elites. and "stickiness" are more obscure word and concept for value.
things have value then the get adopted. this isn't novel in any way

Historia
In 2005, when Lawrence Summers, then president of Harvard, asked why so few women, even today, achieve tenured positions in the hard sciences, Eileen Pollack set out to find the answer. A successful fiction writer, Pollack had grown up in the 1960s and '70s dreaming of a career as a theoretical astrophysicist. Denied the chance to take advanced courses in science and math, she nonetheless made her way to Yale.

Revisado: 02-08-23
this books conclusions are driven almost completely from her perception of what men think, of why something happens. spoiler alert its men and societies fault. obviously.
I particularly like how this book aims to change perception and dedicates a whole chapter to her having a crush on her teacher. derides sexism yet is sexist to men. aim to change perception and then describes everyone's appearance.

Who is this essay for?
Revisado: 05-09-22
The author describes her birth land and then pretend that is an accurate description of the western world. if this essay was mean just for her homeland then great. But here it is being widely promoted in the US. Celebrated here. It describes a world that is just a fantasy. The WEIRD world has long abandon antiquated understanding.

For 25 years, Debby Irving sensed inexplicable racial tensions in her personal and professional relationships. As a colleague and neighbor, she worried about offending people she dearly wanted to befriend. As an arts administrator, she didn't understand why her diversity efforts lacked traction. As a teacher, she found her best efforts to reach out to students and families of color left her wondering what she was missing.

Bad Read
Revisado: 01-13-22
Internally contradictory. The author tells about her racist thoughts and then projects those thoughts onto all white people. The examples that show disparate life experience track far better with social economic lines than they do on racial lines. Not helpful to dialog.

Historia
In I’m Your Emotional Support Animal, Adam Carolla examines how our culture went careening off a cliff. We used to have one that created real warriors who fought world wars. Now it spawns social justice warriors who fight Twitter wars. He takes on those who are traumatized by Trump and “emotional support animal” owners who proclaim their victimhood at every airport. He stands up for the collateral damage of the #MeToo movement and for freedom of speech on “safe space” filled college campuses.
