Interesting history

Interesting history of a woman living in the early period of the country. Explains a lot about the puritans at that time, why they came here and how they lived. It also shows how little women were valued and how they were expected to be silent and subservient. It was also interesting to learn about her descendants. A good book for history buffs.

This is an outstanding general history of India and is strongly recommended. The narrative is very well written and organized, making it a very useful broad discussion of Indian history. I had read a similar general history of India 15 years ago and this book is far better written and includes much recent scholarship.
