Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

The unknown life of Prince Harry
Revisado: 01-20-24
I liked learning about what Harry has been through as a Royal and what those restrictions were as "the spare". The horrible British tabloids were explained well, including how his mother's life was ended by their paparazzi. He had an honorable military time, seeing battlefield action. A result is that I respect Harry and Meghan very much after this book. They continued to be involved in their social charity wirks.

Historia
Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Surêté du Québec and his team of investigators are called in to the scene of a suspicious death in a rural village south of Montreal. Jane Neal, a local fixture in the tiny hamlet of Three Pines, just north of the U.S. border, has been found dead in the woods. The locals are certain it’s a tragic hunting accident and nothing more, but Gamache smells something foul in these remote woods, and is soon certain that Jane Neal died at the hands of someone much more sinister than a careless bowhunter.

Still Life.

I had heard of this series of books about Inspector Gamache (?) and was not disappointed. Louise Penny's writing has good detail for mystery and has some humor as well. This book is appropriate for older teens.

Historia
This quintessential coming-of-age novel describes the early life of Stephen Dedalus. It is set in Ireland during the 19th century, which was a time of emerging Irish nationalism and conservative Catholicism. Highly autobiographical in nature, the work is also notable for its being the first one in which Joyce uses innovative “stream of consciousness” writing style. A Portrait... follows Stephen Dedalus from his babyhood into early adulthood.

Worth listening to having read it once at 17-18, 40+ years later and now with Colin Farrell's great performance.

Historia
Was the 2000 presidential campaign merely a contest between Pinocchio and Dumbo? And did Dumbo miraculously turn into Abraham Lincoln after the events of September 11? In fact, Kathleen Hall Jamieson and Paul Waldman argue in The Press Effect, these stereotypes, while containing some elements of the truth, represent the failure of the press and the citizenry to engage the most important part of our political process in a critical fashion.

Journalist's Study
Revisado: 07-04-19
This provided a good teaching on how journalism should work. It gave critiques of political and national events as reported, then explained where the reporting strayed from true, unbiased practice. I thought the narrator was perfect for this type of book. I'm sure that I would learn more if I listen again, but I would wait several months to do that.

Rewarding Experience with this book
Revisado: 08-19-18
Kept our interest throughout the book. Learned what a President has to consider in a variety of situations. We also appreciated the President's vision in the speech before Congress included in the final chapter.
