This story is a complete replica of Needful Things by every modern day horror fan. This writer should be sued for copyright infringement. I would never recommend this book to anyone. Shame on you audible if you ever took a dime from your faithful readers!

I have over 300 audio books but not one made laugh and cry. The performance was excellent which added to this wonderful story. When the movie came out with Tom hanks playing “Otto”. I thought it was totally miscast. Why anglicized something that is just perfect the way it was supposed to be! However if you have to see the movie do yourself a favour and listen to the book first. Tom Hanks isn’t always the wonder kin every one seems to think!

I find it disgusting that so called aristocracy make money off the misery of others in that above them. It’s time for the u.k. join the 21st century and live and let live by getting real jobs. Just b cause they are titled where did they look in the gilded age look for money to maintain this ridiculous way of life but to America. Now you slap the face that acutely have ambition to make their own. You stole from every country you empired and now they have nothing left you rob hem of their dignity. Your country is going broke an not even your own entrepreneurs will do nothing to maintain your archaic way of life. Time for you class system to disappear and do what few remaining monarchies to do and get jobs instead of living off the blood of their own.

I’m ashamed to be part of this commonwealth and what dignity it had died with the queen.

I don’t know why it took so long for me to see the pattern that K. L. Slater used but there is no talent here except that it kept me reading. Total waste of time.

Like most people that read Stephan King I have several expectations before I even open the book. I know it will be wordy. I know I’m going to meet or learn new details of the characters and that I’m going to have a hard time putting it down. Well this was one of the rare occasions that this didn’t happen.
There was only one of the stories that was remotely interesting but even this story was very short on character development. Not one of the stories made me want to finish it. The reuse of Finders Keepers again was just lazy. All in all this was a very disappointing collection. This man has put out more books than almost any author of our times. He doesn’t need to throw things together. It looks desperate.

I’m so proud to say this trilogy was written by a Canadian author and promoted by our publicly sponsored radio station Cbc. When the first book was released the CBC had a once a week series where they would choose a new release and have it read long before audible came along. Sorry!! This
trilogy about Josephine Bonaparte is beautifully written as her diary. Most books I’ve read about France during the terrors and the revolutions gave me facts. This trilogy made me feel like I was actually living through all the promise, beauty and poverty, aristocrat and serf. You could smell the smells of the times and feel what it was like for those that waited to have their heads chopped off but mainly the complications and strengths it took to love napoleon Bonaparte. All though this is a work of fiction every book took you through what was happening historically in France after the American revolution. Don’t let the time setting turn you away. There is nothing boring or dry about this story.
The narration is beautiful and I will look for more by Kim Handysides.
Let your imagination go and follow Josephine while she was Rose growing up on the island of Martinique, her voyage to France to marry and what happens to her as she grows and matures.
Beautifully written and I have often encountered books written in diary style that left me feeling like I was eavesdropping. This one invites you to join the journey.
Congrats Sandra Gulland. You brought Josephine back to life.

If your a true fan of the tv show you are about to be disappointed with these made for radio episodes. They rework some of the most famous tv episodes but that’s the hook. Because these “episodes” made for radio are often credited to Sterling they are too ridiculous for words. Don’t bother if you don’t recognise the title. Not worth the effort. I’m sure even Rod would be rolling in his grave “ in The Twilight Zone “.
