Historia
Left unable to walk by a childhood illness, Lady Jennifer, sister of the Duke of Wilby, has grown up to make a happy place for herself in society. When Ben Ellis comes across Lady Jennifer as she struggles to walk with the aid of primitive crutches, he instantly understands her yearning.

Historia
By day, 17-year-old Jo Kuan works as a lady's maid for the cruel daughter of one of the wealthiest men in Atlanta. But by night, Jo moonlights as the pseudonymous author of a newspaper advice column for the genteel Southern lady, "Dear Miss Sweetie". When her column becomes wildly popular, she uses the power of the pen to address some of society's ills, but she's not prepared for the backlash that follows when her column challenges fixed ideas about race and gender.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Disappointing
Revisado: 04-05-23
The author tried not to stereo type people/beliefs but in doing that absolutely stereotyped people/beliefs. E.g. if you believe in God you can’t believe science and vice versa. Also, the child’s character was unreliable in her extreme abilities for a 4 year old. E.g. visiting a library unattended, mailing documents on her own etc. On the positive, the author was able to bring to light the extreme suppression of all women, and the challenges that they faced, that was very powerful! It was just okay over all.

It just felt like the same situation was just repeated over and over, and then it became a little boring and predictable. Not the usual high standard, but I still love all her books and will read them all.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-09-19
This book is not a bad book just different from the first 2 and this was why I felt a little disappointed. I found it more about others than the Colm and Gabrielle. It took many, many chapters before they even met and had very little interaction from then on.
It left me wanting more whereas the first 2 in this series were phenomenal.
