Scottward Christopher Galloway (I have no idea what the hell your middle name is, and I've always assumed Scott must be short for something) how dare you launch an unprovoked, unethical, illegal attack on Dexys Midnight Runners. They've done nothing wrong ever, and Come on Eileen is a treasure of the human race.

Love the show, boss, keep up the fabulous work.

WARNING, SPOILERS IMMEDIATELY

Hooooooo boy. Personally, I lasted until the psychic detective made a mental link with dolphins to save the ace-pilot-turned-All-American-family-man hero from hammerhead sharks after a plain crash that killed every single other passenger, all the while a news anchor stood by to give redundant narration.
Yeah, you read that right.
Rule of "Cool" reins supreme here, but it's definitely the author's idea of cool and his alone. Every single character is described as some form of conventionally attractive (aside from like one doctor, neeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrd), hero-man is the Gary-est of Stus, and everyone seems to be either Leave it to Beaver gender-role abiding wholesome or constantly sexed up with no real in between. The dialog is certainly stilted and largely expository in the early goings, and you can tell who the author likes best by their effortless verbal dunking on the supernumeraries.
And it's a damn shame, really, because the concept of this thing is legitimately cool. While the eccentric billionaire aiming to take us to the stars thing may seem hamfisted, the brief worldbuilding we get kinda carries it off well. And hey, sometimes it's a fine line between on the nose and timely, and I really do think this thing would be the later if not for the poor characterization and scene work.

Oh, and a coda to comment on the "tHiS bOoK iS LeFtIsT PrOpOgAnDa" reviews here: If criticizing very real religious right wing terrorism is leftist (which the right is happy to riot about when it's, ahem, "non-Christians", shall we say, doing it) then call me Comrade Stalin. I guess all that tiki torch bearing, gay soldier funeral protesting, and the Klan still existing is just that nasty ole mainstream media blowing things out of proportion, eh boys? More Americans are assaulted, maimed, and killed in the US by Christian domestic terrorists than any other extremist group every year, so just understand that's who you're carrying water for for the sake of partisan point scoring.
